Really cheap insurance is to take both the regular and non-drowsy medications with you. Around $5 each. If you don't need em, great. But if you do, GRRRREATE!

I just got the patch to take with us. I got a prescription for my husband and my two sons and myself. My sons are afraid to wear the patch, you know teenagers, "people will see it" but I'm going to make them anyway. Sure would like to hear experience with the patch, did it work?

Ginger tablets from a health food store work good and they don't cause drowsiness.

my whole family used wristbands - no seasickness at all. we did take dramamine with us, though, just in case. my preacher uses the patch with good results - he is extremely prone to seasickness. the patch is prescription, so you will need to plan ahead with that.

Here is your vote for the patch. Yes, it works with no side effects at all. We have been on 4 cruises in the last year and a half, and always wore the patch. Even those days and nights when we knew we would have been puking without it, we felt great. And we drank, if that is an issue, we drank a lot actually. We took extra on the first cruise and the first night one of our table mates was really sick, never saw a green person before. We gave her the extra patches and we got some great big hugs from a very happy and healthy lady the next night. We have to change them every three days, so that means we don't have to forget to take our pill. Patch has our vote big time

Just remember if you use the patch to not touch the patch and then touch your eyes. It can cause your eyes to dilate.

Why would you MAKE your sons wear the patch? As mentioned here, many people did fine with the different pills. And, don't forget, the vast majority of people never get seasick, so taking anything may not make sense.

I wore the wristband and it did not help. Then I tried dramamine and it did not help, but it helped me sleep. This time I am gonna try bonnie. As a matter of fact, i have some in my suitcase ready for out next cruise.
