I have to admit that in 47 cruises we've been lucky and only come across a few people I would call 'cruise snobs'. For the most part, they seem to be far and few between because most people are enjoying themselves, want to have a good time, and enjoy meeting new people. The only time we ever really came across several 'cruise snobs' on any one cruise was when we did a 17-night cruise from Hong Kong to Beijing on the Oceania Nautica. That one particular cruise we seem to encounter several people that were very 'class' oriented and it appeared to us they were more interested in making sure they only associated with people of their own 'kind' than just relaxing and enjoying meeting everyone. They made us feel we were literally unwelcome in certain 'circles'. Never felt that way on any cruise at any time. Strange.
But we didn't let them ruin our vacation as we still enjoyed our voyage and some amazing ports, including Okinawa where we got to spend the day with our daughter. She's in the Navy and was stationed there for 6 months. Needless to say, she was ecstatic to have us there, if only for the day. And then we got to spend 5 days in Beijing, which was absolutely incredible!
As I always say, a cruise is what you make it. You can have a miserable time if you want, but you can also have a fabulous time if you don't let the little stuff ruin it. (And it's all little stuff.)
