My most memorable and favorite cruise director is Tim Donavan, who was on the Grand early in 2003. I loved his "Wazzzup TV" and he really made an impression in going all out, all the time. Never seemed tired, even doing the "hookie lau" :)

End of last year on the Grand, there was some Aussie, who did the "g'day g'day g'day" thing 50 times too many. He seemed a bit bored really.

We're sailing on the Dawn next month, anyone provide the scoop on the CD???

And who is/was your fave CD?

Paul o'Laughlin was on Ocean 2001 and the Coral 2003...we had a ball from the daily tv show with the ports/itinerary talks to the entertainment on the nights of fun..Enjoy!!!...Joanne

Grahm Seymour was the CD on both of our Princess cruises. He had a great staff on both of them, and the CDs to follow have some big shoes to fill!

I can't remember the CD on our first cruise in May 1999 on the Grand. Graham Seymour was excellent on our May 2002 Grand cruise. Tim Donovan was the CD on our May 2003 Grand cruise. I liked Tim a lot, but give the edge to Graham. He's got a much wackier sense of humor that I appreciate, though I can see how some might think it's a bit over the top.

Did Tim do the Plumber/Parrot Joke at the cruise directors staff show? If I ever see him again, even if it's 10 years from now, I'm going to hit him with a "WHO IS IT!" in a parrot voice.

I'm still laughing about the joke (though I don't recall it all anymore), and it's been almost a year! :D :D :D It's all about the presentation/timing, and he hit it perfect. :)

I'm going on the Dawn, how is CD Paul (forgot last name)?

Had Paul Burns on the Sun (2001) and the Dawn (2003). Pretty funny guy. His assistant on the Dawn (Martin I think) was a bit silly to the point of being absurd. There isn't much doubt they love what they do.

I just returned from back to backs on the Dawn Princess and the CD is Paul Burns. I've sailed with him before and he is one of the better ones IMHO.

Great to hear! It really makes all the difference when you have someone in the top spot that loves what they do, it filters through their staff and right to the passengers.

I'm really excited, thanks for the responses!!!

John Heald-Carnival. No competition with any other CD I have had in 10 cruises.
