oh rats!!!!! Einstein had signed in to do his drink post.. the young and stupid one is red stripe :lol

Mr dream was to go to England and take off ion bicycle and got around the various villages and pubs . My other Brit friend Mary used to tell me abt her war time experiences. Riding a byclcle from pub to pub and then not being able to get back where they started.. Guess will just have to keep this for a pleasant day dream to revisit.

Did you find the photo of you in the cart yet Red? and Maw this village would be fairly easy to cycle around, or by scooter! you approach the village by a long shady lane which I found beautiful. Les took a video of it but I think we have saturated the board enough for now! Devon is a beautiful spot in England, I don't know how Red could leave but then she is in a nice spot on the map nowadays too. And Red, I forgot to mention we had scones and clotted cream in the teashop in Cockington....

keep on rubbing it in :lol
I made some strawberry jam the other week, and I make some real good scones, I have to make do with the jars of Devon cream or double cream.. but when I have like minded company, I love to make them. When I set them out on the Royal Crown Derby "posy" china.. I am transported right back there, sitting with Aunty Glad and uncle Phil.. having a spot of tea..

My Aunty Glad always used that china for everyday use, and I love it's pretty and cheerful pattern. it is hard to be down when you look at it. For a long while I used to get mine out foe special occasions only, but now I use it every day like she did.
What am I saving it for? :lol as I told Einstein, if it breaks.. it breaks.. but at least I will have had the pleasure of using it. And with a 12 place setting.. I think I have enough to last a while :grin

So if you want to stop by for scones and a spot of tea......

Red, I have to admit the scones at the tearoom were a disappointment and I am very sure yours are infinitely better. If only you were not a thousand miles away I would be there like a shot!! Many thanks for your greetings today. Dot.

Dot.. just for you.. :grin
I have added the scone recipe back into the Cruise Addicts Recipe page, also some recipes for mock Devon creme, Crème fraiche and even how to make your own Devon cream.
although as good a cook as seamom says you are, I bet that you already have one that you like.

here is the link to the page.

I always hate those little "bullets" they serve for Afternoon tea on a ship. I hate it because someone tasting them for the first time will think that is the way they are supposed to taste, and perhaps never try them again.. unless they are short of hockey pucks :lol
I always want to march back to the kitchens and whip up a batch :lol

Red, Thank you for the recipes! your scone recipe is the same as mine but for the baking powder, I have only been putting 1 tsp., I mixed up a dry batch ready to add the egg and milk tomorrow so will add more b/p now! and I will definitiely try out the clotted cream recipe on day soon, I doubt I can find unpasteurized cream though so will try the second one. Tomorrow I will use my little jar of Devonshire cream.. Feel free to pop in!

Dot, thanks for the invite... but I will be busy tomorrow. I am going to the beach and see the donkeys :grin
