I am torn. I am booked in a cove balcony on the Carnival Dream. I just found a similar cruise in a balcony cabin on the Norwegian Epic for less money. The NCL one is just a guarantee. My friend told me that NCL is likely a better deal. This will be our first balcony so I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks for any help.
cove is a reasonably small balcony, closer to the water than balconies normally are and are subject to being closed off during rough weather. Since you have never experienced a balcony go with the NCL. A guarantee is just that, if you book a balcony guarantee you will get a balcony, but you may get upgraded to a better balcony but never lower than the category that you booked. I can be a win win but usually guarantees are the lowest level of the categories.
Of course if your open minded you'll do good with whatever you do.
