Carnival Dream 9/11/2010 - I'm Dreaming of a Big Big Big Cats Cruise! The Sequel

Back from Bobbies...engine is out... not without a few mishaps....gas lines were 30 years old.... line broke and I had gas all over me and the garage floor. I ended up with a few scratches but all is good. now we can replace all the seals and she will have no leaks :)
I hope everyone is well
Jim

Re: Carnival Dream 9/11/2010 - I'm Dreaming of a Big Big Big Cats Cruise!

While I appreciate the extra hour of sleep....it would be nice if I didn't wake up so early because a certain kitty needed to tell me that her clock did not need to be adjusted and it was time for her food. George, are we back to a two hour time difference now? Here's how we test this...our football games are at 1PM and 4PM. What time are yours?

We hope to finally book this week. I am hoping that I can spend 15 minutes on the phone during the day to actually make it happen.

Jim, what is your impression of new VW's? Do you know anything about them? I have pretty much made up my mind to car shop after the first of the year since my beloved "Blue" will be 9 in April. (I always name my cars...)

Is George the only one who has officially booked?

Sheree

And go Browns...please don't lose by more than 3 touchdowns on a nationally televised game tonight.... :)

Sheree, you would be correct...games are 11 and 2 here starting this weekend. I think we are the lone bookers right now. Sleeping in here is typically 6:00 am. Arrielle spent the night at a friends following trick or treat last night. New job, means a new car? Should have done it during cash for clunkers. With all those benjamins rolling in, you should be looking at a Mercedes, not a VW :D If my Rams don't win today, we could have a repeat of an 0-16 team this year.

It's not THAT many benjamins, George!!! And my fuel efficient little Corolla (I won't tell my dear little Blue that you called her a clunker) wouldn't qualify....remember I was getting my 35 miles+ to a gallon while everyone else was spending $70-80 to fill up the tank! Honestly, I don't know how I am going to break up with her....errrr, I mean, trade her in. I get too attached to my cars. Anyway, when the car show comes to town I may be like a kid in a candy shop....though I haven't had a car payment in at least 4 years, so I am spoiled!

My Rams won a game!!!!

I know what you mean about going back to a payment after not having one for so long...tough to do.

One of the features of our new forums is a section called Social Groups, what these are, are mini forums but not in the mainstream forum listing. They can be accessed from the Community link within the navigation bar at the top just above the forum listings. What we would like to do is create a special section for group cruises that are not part of the Cruise Addicts Group Cruise package.
Members of the group can start threads, reply to threads and in essence it responds just like a forum, but it is your forum. It will have its own leader chosen by yourselves, (no knives or guns during selection) that will be able to keep the group organized, you can make it public, moderated or private, your choice.
Only bad part of this so far is that we have not found a way to move the posts from this existing thread, though we can leave this thread as a reference archive.
We are not going to force you to leave the roll call forum but we would really appreciate your considerations in our effort to move non sanctioned group cruise discussions into their own special area, this will also allow you to mention the travel agent to contact, discuss pricing on the group in case others would like to join in (i can't imagine why anybody would be crazy enough to subject themselves to this but just in case) plus you can become a world unto yourselves with open doors and window if you wish.

Doesn't have to be a rash decision, talk it out, think about it then let us know

Hey all,

Per Bob's request above...here is the link to the "social group" section.

http://www.cruise-addicts.com/forums/group.php?do=grouplist&cat=2

Bob, speaking for myself...I'm happy right here. Don't really want to start over, and the "social group" section is difficult to find, with what I perceive as minimal activity. Certainly this is just my own opinion, and if others in our group would rather make the change, then I would go along.

Yay Rams.... now they are just as good as the Browns. Um, yippee. It's a good thing that none of us have teams that really do win!

I agree with your statement about staying here - though we do socialize a lot and probably talk about non-cruise stuff more than cruise stuff, I am still hoping that some others will join us after lurking in on our conversations. (Come on, you know you are out there!) It would be great to have more cruise addicts join us!

And I really do plan to book soon...hopefully this week!

And how about the Oasis barely clearing under a bridge....did you all see that?

Here's a video of the Oasis squeezing under the bridge for anyone who didn't catch it...

My neighbor across the street just got rid of his Passat after five years...he said it was great. Crash test and side curtain airbags was his main reason for buying.

Good morning all,

I attended a budget meeting yesterday...news was not good...90 mil shortfall for the General fund. We have to come up with 30% across the board in cuts.
