Has anyone been successful booking shore excursions on the Carnival website. Seem to get the run around without reaching the actual booking site. Have a paid cruise in 1/06 and want to get this out of the way. First time we have hit this problem with the website. No problems with our contacts concerning booking the cruise or the online boarding pass. Do they have a limit as to how early you can do this. When I go to my cruise info I am solicited to book excursions but then the run around begins.

I've booked with the website without any problems. Our cruise is this May. I wonder if it has to be a certain amount of days out before you can book? Opps, I see that's what you are asking. I think it may be to early. Maybe someone else has an idea on this. Just wanted to say that I did book two excursions for our upcoming cruise so it does work. I'm sure someone will have an answer. :)

i had no problem at for this may cruise. i think sweetpea is right that it is too early to book any tours yet. i think they need a certain amount of time to organize the tours before the cruise to get the times, prices and itinerary set up with the company's. i would wait untill this summer to try again. i know you will have a wonderful time on your cruise and you will love the celebration.

I also think final payment needs to be done. If you are looking at January 2006 it is way too early to see even what they offer.

I think that you are permitted to book excursions between 90 days before the cruise, up until a week before.

We are going on Sensation April 4. We booked our shore excursions for Cozumel online a week ago. We had no trouble. We also found the price to be cheaper through the ship than we could find on the internet. I think we got the Catamaran/Beach party for $55 per person through the ship. Most of the websites were more than this although we may have found one for $50 each but felt saving $10 wasnt worth being guaranteed our ship wasnt leaving without us. Perhaps the prices go up when you board the ship or they may go down (with the private vendors) when you arrive at port but as for now we found the best value booking thru the ship online.

We booked our shore excursions for last months cruise right after the first of the year when it was first available.
No problems and our tickets were all under our door on the first night of the cruise!

You do need a credit card to pay for them right away but the good thing is that it helps keep your S&S account lower having those trips paid for in advance.

If you've made a full deposit and you are not within five days of your departure date, you can book your shore excursions online now! It used to be 180 days or less to sail date.

They are constantly updating it so it may change again.

I did see at the FAQ's page that you have to be within 180 days to book a excursion. Too bad they are not posting this on the excursion page when they solicit you to go and book a tour. But that is how Carnival is usually, a bit backward.
