I was wondering if anyone has tried blue mountain coffee and if it is good?where can i buy this at in jamaica?how much? i know if you can find it in the U.S its about 50.00-60.00 dollars a pound.also any comments on nativway sting ray city tour . how is this company to go with in caymen?

You can buy Blue Mountain coffee everywhere in Jamaica. If I recall, it's about $16 per pound. It is very good, but not the best coffee I have had.

I can't help you with Nativeway since I've never used them. We did use Captain Marvins in Cayman and were very pleased. I have read very good things about Nativeway on this board so I am sure some helpful person can will tell you more.

There was a long post on Blue Mountain Coffee a few days ago. Just be carefull of fakes. It is like buying a legitimate cigar in the Caribbean there are so many fakes. You should be able to buy it for around $16-$20 a pound.

Don Foster is also a good snorkel guide. We have used them twice.

I found that you can also buy it in Cayman and Cozumel and it was cheaper!!!.. I guess the tourist places in Jamaica really jack up the price for us Yankees :(

We've stayed in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica (little known secret: the mountains are even better than the beach) and drank the coffee up there. If you like strong, rich coffee, it's hard to find better stuff than this. I should think that touristy gift shops are more likely to sell you fakes, unless it's an official Jamaica Tourist Bureau type facility. Coffee shops, just as in the states, are more prone to carry the real thing. Or even just stroll into a grocery store if you have the opportunity. That might be the best place to buy some.

I don't know of any coffee that's actually worth $20 a pound, but if you want to bring some back as gifts, it's always fun to hand someone a burlap sack with Blue Mountain coffee in it. Or better yet, drink it yourself and send them a postcard.

Safe travels,
cfurry

The key to buying it is to make sure it says Blue Mountain Coffee not Blue Mountain Coffee Blend. The key word being blend, that means it is not pure Blue Mountain Coffee.

We bought Blue Mountain coffee on our last 2 trips and it cost about $16 a pound.
Be careful of where you buy it. Better to buy in a Jamican coffee shop.
Make sure it states 100% Jamician Blue Mountion Coffee on the package.
Make sure the weight is a pound and not 10 or 11 oz.
Don't buy it on another island becuase it could be a fake. How could be anything else at $11 a pound but a fake.
Remember you get what you pay for and buyer beware.

It's expensive but not as expensive as Hawaiian coffe which cost $24 a pound even in Hawaii right from the coffee plantation. And boy is there a lot of fakes and blends of so called hawiian coffe out there.
