*BIG CATS INVADE THE CARNIVAL VALOR - 5/26/12*

Hi All.
I have not kept up with the post. I had an operation that worked out well. I have not felt this good in years. Was in Emmitsbure Md. for all last week for some FEMA classes. We have not booked a cruise yet. I am still looking for a deal that will work for us.I hope all is good with everyone.

Jim glad your operation went well and that you are feeling so good. I hope that you can find a cabin (s) that works in your budget. You can always do like us and book the cheap, cheap ones. We would not mind some company down in the bottom of the boat. Tom could use some help greasing the props and pulling up the anchor. :-)

Plan to book tomorrow....I will let you know for certain tomorrow evening!

Jimmy - good to hear you are doing well.

Regina - if we don't get booking soon, Greg and I might be down there with you!

And keep that port information coming along - I don't know if we'll have time to pre-plan anything - we may just show up the day before the cruise and go with the flow!

Hey George and Barb are we all schedule for the same table at early seating dinner? I nkw that Tom requested to be at Annes table. Not sure about George though. I hope so. Getting a little reasearch on the ports now. George we are still waiting for that call since you keep ignoring us when we call you.

Hey...tried yesterday...and then again today...who is ignoring who here :D

I found this on another thread...this is probably how we'll get from FLL to the Miami Port....

SAS Transportation

I know this is a little late for the initial inquirer but for anyone coming late to this site looking for this type of information I hope my comments will be of great use to you. For our cruise leaving from the Port of Miami on 2/7/2012 in which we arrived in FL via Ft Lauderdale Airport (FLL) we used SAS Transportation. I sent them an email, ridesas954@sol.com , in advance (about 10 days before we were scheduled to arrive) to arrange pick up at the airport and for return from the terminal. Upon arrival at FLL I called them and within 5 minutes they were there. Even though it was just my wife and I, the fare to the Port of Miami via the Van they sent was only $15.00 per person to which I added a $10.00 tip as he also loaded our suitcases on and off the van. Upon our return to Miami, I called just prior to going through Customs and again (about 35 minutes latter) just after we finished. The Van arrived within 5 minutes of our getting to the curb in the front of the terminal Again it was just my wife and myself and again the fare was only $15.00. These guys were great, prompt and inexpensive. I heartily recommend anyone arriving at FLL going to anywhere in Miami, Port or otherwise, use their service.

I was just exploring transportation myself. Boards seem to be hit or miss on SAS...but rates seem good. Did not find anything from PBI though.

Still searching for airfare.....the perfect flight with perfect times is still barely under $400. I seem to remember paying $123 round trip once, a handful of years ago. Not happening this time!

George may have the time off to do that....but Greg and I don't! And I think Miami is at least a 24 hour drive. I think we can make Orlando in just under 20!

Sheree I forgot to put George just drive here. You are right, Miami is about 4 hours from Orlando. Then again, it all depends on who's driving.

I know what you mean about airfare. I just paid $308 to fly to Charlotte and back from Orlando. It is crazy. Guess with fuel prices going higher it is not going to get any cheaper to fly either.

Where is everybody posting? I am confused. We paid final payment. Are you looking at excursions yet?

Jim,
I hope you and family can work out going on this cruise!

I am posting here - just checked in on a roll call thread on the cc boards. Only said hello there.....I am so confused right now by the Continental/United merger. We're so used to being a Continental hub. Now I can't find out if I kept the same frequent flyer number, where my miles have gone, etc.....and with that card our first bags were free. I can' t tell if there is a fee or not when I look at their website. Confusing! And I think I am just going to buy the airfare now even though the price is a high, 'cause I don't think it's getting any lower!

Yeah, I know what you mean, we bit the bullet and just booked. Everything being reported here is a $20 increase on r/t tickets...and that was by Southwest, so you know everyone else will follow suit. Our one way flight on SW coming back has already gone up $40 since we booked 2 weeks ago. Have you checked the FAQ section for the merger?

Maybe this page will help...

Thanks George - I still can't find exactly what I need.....but we are finally confirmed on our flight. Hopefully the baggage answer is out there somewhere. I've been quite busy lately so haven't had a whole lot of time to do more research on the issue. Oh, I need a cruise so much it's insane!
