In Europe not all the best things are seen by the port and a quick jump on the bus, train or car is needed. Going that extra few miles is always worth to see the world has to offer.
The Alhambra, Granada, Spain
This is a 90 Minute trip if your port of Malaga (Always check on times to reach back to your cruise). However this is the oldest and best preserved of the 14th century Moorish palaces, the Alhambra is the feast for the senses, with intricate tile mosaics, carved-wood ceilings, elaborate pools, and lush gardens.
Le Havre, France
There isn’t much to see but your time should be spent exploring abit of Normandy, Bayeux for its tapestry and Honfleur for its picturesque, cobbled streets or the historic and D-Day beaches before returning to the cruise ship.
Rome, Italy
The cruise ship will dock in Civitavecchia and it’s about a 90 minute drive by bus but train is quicker. A tour will be the best bet as it stops at the city’s highlights with time for sightseeing or shopping for first time visitors. Shore excursions may include the Colosseum and Vatican and driving past arch of Constantine and ruins of the Roman Forum. It’s impossible to see everything in a day in Rome after all Rom wasn’t built in a day.
