Okay, there are so many options!! What would you reccomend? How should we go about our day in St. Thomas? Any opinions on the best snorkeling site? What's a must see? Any secluded beaches, like on "Castaway"? That would be my ultimate dream!!

St. John is absolutly beautiful; but I would recommend a beach other than Trunk Bay that just gets too crowded. Also I found the snorkling trail to be disapointing: many people, few fish. If I ever get to go back, I would rent a car or a driver to just take me all around St. John since every curve has another breathtakingly beautiful view and stop where I want to, like more secluded beaches. Our driver who took a bunch of us back from Trunk Bay sayed he would stop for some great views, but he never did. He drove back to take the ferry on those curvy roads going 100 mph.

We did a day sail in St. Thomas on the winifred, but there are many other companies that do the same thing. I would highly recommend Capt. Sharon and the winifrd....you can check out the web page at www.sailwinifred.com.

Have fun!

We have been there a number of times (both cruise and land-based vacations)and really love St. John and Trunk Bay, but I have to agree that it gets way too crowded on port days. Since you want secluded beaches, a great way to get there is by a charter such as recommended by cycofan on a small boat that will get you to beautiful little coves and beaches that are far less touristy. If you don't mind a power boat (as opposed to sailing) and price is no object, you can charter one for 1/2 day and still have time to see some things on St. Thomas, such as Magen's beach, and the beautiful vista points.

Thanks everyone! These are some great suggestions and we will look into all or our options! How much is it to ride the "chair lift" to paradise point to take pics of the cruise ships? Never been to the USVI and it has always been a dream of ours, so any other info would be greatly appreciated.

$15 pp in Dec on Destiny for tram tickets. Didn't do it so don't know if that is what it is off the ship.

We went up Paradise Point in the evening, and saw the harbor and cruise ships at night with all the lights on. What an unforgettable sight. $15 per person, kinda pricey, but hey, you are on vacation.

My daughter and I were there on the Victory in December. We went Sea Trekking. It was absolutely awesome! I don't know how to swim, but was able to do this. You are right by Coki Beach, which is supposed to be great for snorkeling.
