Anniversary of Hucc's passing

Four years ago today, we lost our dear friend Hucc. He and I were close, as many of you know, so it was a very difficult time for me. Yet, the outpouring of love and support from my fellow @ddicts was unbelievable, and truly helped me get through this period. I remember making a card that everyone signed (by responding to a thread)--the card turned out to be a huge piece of cardboard. His family was touched seeing not only the number of signers but the variety of places from which they came. Australia, Finland, and many U.S. states and Canadian provinces were among them. I also downloaded the many responses made to his family after his passing and had them professionally bound. Putting these together helped me tremendously, as did the messages I received privately or directly.

So, a toast to Hucc, who brought joy to many of us. Hard to believe it's been four years.

I was just thinking about Hucc the other day & was wondering how Koolaid & Oliver are doing these days. I always looked forward to his posts & was especially touched by his posts about Oliver as they went thru the adoption process.

I have thought of Koolaid and Oliver also. I hope they have found peace and happiness. Hucc was a very brave and courageous man and I too enjoyed his posts. May he rest in peace and may his friends and family take comfort in the special memories of him. Special thoughts to you, Lisa.

I'm thinking of you today Lisa...and remembering Hucc! He was a very special man and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet him and his family.

....and when I think of Hucc I love to remember all the menus he made and talked about...and of course his favourite...Pho!

Thanks Lisa for this. Hucc was great for allowing us into his life. And best wishes to Koolaid & Oliver on this day.

We had the pleasure of meeting both Hucc and Koolaid on a Cruise to Nowhere on the Carnival Legend. They both were a bit shy and reserved until they were convinced that they were among Friends. They were two of the nicest people anyone would ever want to meet. We cried and laughed and ultimately rejoiced about Oliver's adoption. Mal and I still remember when he got his first vehicle. He was a phenomenal individual and I can't imagine anyone not liking him!

Lisa, if you're still in touch with Koolaid, please let him know that we think of him and Oliver often and hope they're doing well. He's welcome to email us any time he'd like!

I too think of Huck often and miss his posts. He loved talking about Oliver and shared many recipes with us. I wonder how Oliver is doing? Wishing Koolaid and Oliver much happiness in life as that is what Huck would have wanted.

Aww... Hucc. So much fun. Miss him and also can' t believe it was four years ago. One of those people I've never met but felt quite close over the years.

Doesn't seem possible it has been that long. Often wonder abt Oliver and Koolaid. I too remember when Hucc got that car. Hugs to you Lisa.

I have been away for a while, so I am getting caught up. I never had the pleasure of meeting Hucc, but he was one incredible man who touched so many lives. He will live in hearts forever.
