Karen: I asked Art about “SON DON” !!
Turns out Don likes to bike wherever Art goes on these bike rides. Doesn’t want him to bike alone…..so the Den Mother , she bakes them all Brownies and keeps the group organized, has nick-named him Art’s Son Don! Ha ha.
That’s the story as boring as it is !

Election Day in Canada. We vote for who will be running our country for the next four years as our Prime Minister. Unless we elect a minority government who would then strike a deal with one of the other two parties to form our government. It seems this election will be decided by who Canadians feel is in the best position in world politics to deal with the constant changes brought about by The US president. We voted at the advance polls a week ago.
Cute story about Art’s son “Don”.
Both Lu-Ann and I are still feeling poorly. I see a trip to the pharmacy and the grocery and that’s it for today.
Everyone, please have a great Monday.

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.
Hope your Election turns out SO MUCH BETTER than ours did! :smiley24:
Hate when 2 of our Hutch (Lee & Lu-Ann) are not feeling their best.
Sure hope this passes soon. Keep pumping down the LIQUIDS. And don't forget the
Chicken Soup cure..... and of course... VICKS. In your case once you get back from the pharmacy & Grocery store rub down with VICKS and get under the covers and sweat it out.
REST, REST, REST and HYDRATE big time. Feel better guys!

Here's a story for you all!
Totally USELESS READING, so feel free to skip over.

We have 2 small trays that rotate in one cupboard that hold our coffee cups. I think there are 5 cups on each tray. Well, both Art and I have our favorite cups and both of us use the cup and then instead of just washing it out by hand and putting it back in the cupboard we put them in the DISHWASHER. That can work for a few days or until the cups are all in the dishwasher. Since we DON'T turn on the dishwasher every day, I end up taking all the cups out of the dishwasher and wash them by hand and put them back on the revolving tray in the cupboard!
So, are we NUTS and need to go to a Dirty Cups Anonymous meeting to get cured of this bad habit? I just washed, dried and returned the cups this morning to the cupboard and made me think that this would be a very USELESS POST to entertain you all with! Ha Ha

You all have a good day. If I come up with anything better to chat about, I'll be back! :emoticon 0115 inlove:

Good afternoon, HOT, HOT, HOT! here, we haven't had any rain to speak of in months. Got teased last night with thunder & lightning but it didn't even rain enough to fully wet the road here. Over at Jane's about 8 miles away it poured!

Kathy, thanks for explaining how Art ended up with a son. I very seldom put my coffee cup in the dishwasher, for just me I usually wash it out & hang it back on the rack on my coffee bar. If I know I'm going to be cooking for company & using the dishwasher then I put put a couple cups in there.

Lee, sure hope you & LuAnn get to feeling better soon, if not it might be time to make a Dr. appt. Hope your election turns out better than ours, actually I'm pretty certain it will from what I've seen Canadian voters are NOT dummies!

Mike, I think dandelions must be a northern weed, I don't remember seeing any here in Florida, which is fine with me, we have enough other varieties of weeds to make life aggravating!

Went to the church this morning & worked in the flower beds for a little bit, weeding & planting some extra rain lily bulbs I had dug up from my flower beds. Then picked up a few groceries at Walmart. Stopped by Jane's for coffee on my way back home since I drive right by her house coming from Walmart, still seems odd not having Hansel greet me at the door when I come in. The lady that Jane got Hansel from sent her a message last night, she is in a pet re-homing group on facebook & someone was posting they needed to find a home for this small dog right away or they would have to take it to the shelter. She sent a link to the post & a picture, Jane had seen the post before but she messaged her back & said she wasn't ready to even think about adopting another dog right now. I don't blame her for not rushing into getting another dog & the post struck me as fake or a scam, the person posted anonymously & that always makes me suspicious. I think she will eventually get another older dog, but she will know when she is ready.
Had to order a new printer today, mine had been acting up for a couple weeks, not wanting to print . I'd been able to baby it along by letting it set for a few hours and then turning it on & trying again. Today no matter how long I let it sit it just kept giving me an error message & telling me to contact support for service. I'm sure any "service" would end up costing more than the $75 I spent on the new printer so I just ordered one from Amazon. I spent a little more to get the same model I have now because I have a brand new color & black ink cartridge that is still in the box & I'm past the return window for Amazon. Oh well, it's only money I guess.

We go through the same conundrum with our printer Karen. We don’t use it very often but like to have it when we need it! Seems that here a new printer is not much different in price from just the ink! I can’t tell you how often we have said “no more pups”. Until the next one comes along. I think with our various heath concerns common sense will prevail! We have a right healthy crop of “dandies”.
I have “A” coffee cup Kathie. I use it and wash it. We also have a set of 9 double walled glass mugs that Lu-Ann prefers. So…hers get used and tossed in the dishwasher. We’re hoping that whomever becomes our Prime Minister they are able to navigate Canada through the world’s ever changing political face.
Hi Mike and Fay.
Currently 73F, warmer tomorrow with thunderstorms.

72F but feels warmer because there is NO WIND today to speak of. I brought up the chaise lounge cushion and now I'm trying to find the COVER for it. I think it might be in the attic in the garage.
I'm pulling down the stairs when I get off this computer and taking up the Snow Shovel (watch it snow now... Ha ha) and the box my front door wreath came in. Nice hard cardboard box to store it in.
Hopefully, the chaise lounge cover will be up there!

Went and paid for the Pre-Pay Funeral Expenses! The money goes into an Escrow Fund and interest is paid to the beneficiary when all is said is done. So glad that's over with. I need to make a directory of all our account numbers (IRA, Pension, Etc) and phone and address information next. Once I get that done I will have a BIG worry LOAD off my shoulders.

We went to the Shamrock Bar and had a Late Lunch/EARLY dinner. Their hamburgers are so good. The beer was extra cold and good too.
Then we stopped by the Orthopedic doctor's office and made an appointment for me to have him look at my back. I waited on the PHONE early this morning for 18 mins on hold and gave up.
I walked into the office and 4 young gals were all sitting around chatting. o_O
It took me a whole 2 mins to make an appointment for
TOMORROW AT 11:00 A.M. Works for me! It's worth it to find out if this is just Arthritis
or something else. We REALLY need to look into getting a new mattress that is firmer and cooler than the one we have. Current one is 8 yrs old. They don't make them to last like they use to in the old days.

Every time I'm with Manny or I visit the site where they got him from and look at all the puppies I WANT ONE..... but it's just too late in life to do that now. Not to mention with a back that doesn't last too long on a walk it wouldn't be fair to the pup! :(

Thank goodness PRINTERS are as inexpensive as they are these days. Good to order one before the PRICES GO UP! DUH!!

Hope our 2 sickies' are getting better each day! REST is BEST.

Later gang. The attic is waiting for me.

Those planters are fantastic, wish I had a little of that talent. my printer is smearing colored pictures, it is low on colored ink and I hope that is the problem. I did a few things to it but nothing helped. I'll get some more ink and see if that helps. good luck on your test tomorrow.
I thought dandelions grew every where Karen. In Cinci they do well in hot dry weather, cold wet weather and every thing in between. I don; know if the soil makes that much of a difference. They do have a pretty yellow flower.
I hope you and Lu-Ann start to feel better soon Lee. It seems like what you have has been dragging on. Hope who ever you voted for wins,
good night

Good morning.
The People have elected Prime Minister Mark Carney to lead Canada for the next four years. The party fell just 4 seats short of a majority government which can, sometimes, be a good thing. Only time will tell.
I hope your test goes well this morning and it provides a little clarification on your back problem Kathie. It’s hard to look at a puppy, or kitten, and not want to adopt one. Something we never used to think twice about.
There’s a special place for people like Jane Karen. Those folks who know senior dogs, any pets for that matter, need a home too. Even though they won’t be with us as long.
Lu-Ann first started feeling poorly a week ago today Mike. I managed to stave it off until Saturday and it really took hold Sunday. With Lu-Ann’s PD and my heart meds we both have to be cautious with the over the counter remedies we take.
We get dandelions mostly in the spring. We have a good crop this year. We used to try to fight them but all it takes is one or two neighbours to not control them and it became a losing battle.
It was 70F when I got up at 6:45. Yes, you read the right. I slept until 6:45! It seems like the day is half over! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: And it was raining. We’re supposed to see rain, perhaps thunderstorms, throughout the day. Right now the sun is trying to poke through.
If there is one thing I can count on every morning around this time it’s Ava looking for her breakfast. And today doesn’t disappoint. I’m getting that “feed me” look from her.
All of you have a safe and fantastic day.

You were warmer than we were K2, we had severe thunderstorm warnings abour 1 but is sunny; now.
Lee, I hope your new Prime Minister does a good job. Our daughter adopted an older dog. She says it suits her fine, she doesn't wamt tp gp thru the puppy routine again. This one is a coon hound mix. Make dandelion wine.

Dropping by to see if Kathie is home yet.
We had a heck of a downpour here a bit ago. More storm warnings in effect until 9:00 pm.
It’s 75F here Mike but feels like 86F. By 10:00 pm it’s going to be 55F and feel a tad cooler. No wonder more storms are in the forecast! I’ve heard of but never had dandelion wine.

My Father could make dandelion wine. I sometimes think he could make wine out of two wet pebbles.
I'm hearing thunder, we have sever weather unitl 12:30 or so, will close for now.

I'm fine gang. They took X-Rays of the back, knees and spine. Have an order for a MRI and a epidural for the back pain. Not sure if I'll be doing that all that quick. I had one of those when I delivered Jill and I still remember how much it hurt! Gotta think about that.
Doctor said it was Arthritis and wants to make sure it doesn't have anything to do with my spine.
Wednesday, I go to get the few stiches out of my back. Never did get a call if they were positive or not. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
I sure hope the Doctors are using the money they're making off of these visits WISELY. I'm just glad I only have a $10 co-pay. :clap002:

Lee: So, do you like this new Prime Minister? I know he's NOT a fan of Orange Man! I just wish we could all go back to being FAIR-TRADE neighbors with Canada and even China! I see Dollar Store going out of business since almost EVERYTHING in that store comes from China or India, etc.
I love the $.50 cent greeting cards or if you want to go BIG... the $1.00 cards. Sure beats the price of Hallmarks $5.00 - 7.50 silly cards.
Hi to Karen and Mike.
Out of here for now. Sorry about the boring medical chit-chat!

By the way, I want you all to know that I WASHED and DRIED and PUT AWAY my coffee cup today! Ha Ha.

The good Doctor got a small box of my Burbon Cherry Biscotti's. Did I mention that the guy is Serbian! A friend from church sent me to him about my knee. Down to earth guy.

Good morning everyone!
Never apologize for updating us on your medical stuff. The same goes for all of you. I guess it’s because we’re friends and care about each other. Our temperatures are so very similar to yours Kathie. Currently a tick under 40F. Yesterday at this time it was 70F. A drop of 30 degrees in 24 hours. I believe (hope) that Prime Minister Carney was the best choice to lead Canada in the ever and daily changing world. His background in economics on a world wide scale will hopefully help as he navigates Canada through what could be a sea of rough trade times ahead.
I looked up a recipe for dandelion wine Mike. Seemed fairly easy. No recipes for pebble wine though. ;) I imagine your daughter’s dog must be a good size based on the breed!
How are things in your neck of the woods Karen? Did you get that new printer up and running?
We had a brief power blip here on Monday night. Just enough to cause chaos between the tv, the cable, the internet and the home phone. At any given time two were working. I spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon on the phone with Bell and finally LG to reset everything. It seems the power blip was just enough to scramble the tv “location” from Canada to another country in the menu. Because of that the wifi wouldn’t connect properly. Excellent customer service from both companies! We never had these issues back in the day of four channels and a rabbit ear antenna!
Have a fantastic and safe day everyone.

The spots on my back were NEGATIVE! Took out the stitches and zapped my thumb wart one more time and I was on my way. Can't wait until this thumb heals up and I can ditch the soft rubber glove. They're blue and look like the kind the medical folks use! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I ran some "Pick-Up" errands for Jill and Ashley. Went to the dollar store and got some Sticky-Notes and 2 pkgs of Mr Clean sponge cleaner things. I'll use them to do a Spring Cleaning on the white counter tops. I need to see about a wipe on sealer for at least the island.

I'm off to Jill's to deliver the items I picked up for them. One was a T-Shirt for a Dog that got burned by it's destructive/horrible owner. There was a fund-raiser to pay his Vet bills and Jill donated and got a nice T-Shirt with his picture on it and on the back the organization that helps pets in need.

Karen: Hope it's not too too hot by you today. It's PERFECT here right now. Art's been digging up the dandelions that are on our neighbor (ART's) property between the houses. I told my ART he should just buy a bag of WEED killer and put it on by throwing it all over and be done with it. We never complain about our neighbors' dandelions because we know he's on a tight budget and he's just too nice of a neighbor. :emoticon 0115 inlove::smiley24:

Later gang.... Enjoy the SUNSHINE~

That’s great news Kathie. Lu-Ann and I got to thinking about what you said about the dollar stores. We best go get some poo bags before they’re either no longer available or go up in price. A box of 60 is $1.25 and Ava goes through about a box a month.
It’s so darned expensive here to control dandelions. Even more expensive to use pet and child friendly controls. A perfect 60F here right now. Somewhat overcast but nice all the same.
I hope you are all enjoying your day.

Good evening, another Hot dry day here in Belleview, at least for now the humidity hasn't been to bad.

Kathie, glad to hear the spots on your back were nothing serious, now hoping the tests for your back pain show the same results.

Lee, how is LuAnn's cold doing? Good idea to stock up on the poo bags while you can still get them. Sounds like you found the Unicorn of customer service after your power blip, a rare & mystical occurrence for sure!

Mike, I've never had dandelion wine but I can remember my mom digging up & cooking dandelion greens, tasted a lot like spinach if I remember correctly.

Did some yard work at Jane's yesterday & got her sun shade up for another year. Then this morning I worked at the church for a little bit replanting some rain lily bulbs in one of the flower beds. Barb came by this afternoon & we went to the pool for a little while, water temp is 85 but it still feels chilly to me.
I was telling Barb about a battery powered mower I saw on sale at Roses, a discount store here in town, $199 for the power, charger & 2 batteries. I was half way thinking about getting it to use at Jane's house, crazy Barb stopped there on her way home & bought it for Jane, she said it's really for both of us since I'll be the one mowing but then Jane won't have to work the cord. Jane may even decide to try mowing her yard herself with the battery mower. We will most likely give it to her this weekend instead of waiting till July for her birthday. I smell my dinner in the oven, I made a taco bake earlier & had it chilling in the fridge, added sour cream and cheddar cheese on top & now it just has to warm thru and dinner will be ready. Have a great evening all!
