I was just on a 7 day cruise to Alaska's Inside Passage and there were barely any people our age on the boat. I think I saw one or two couples in their 20's or 30's. About five teenagers and two or three children. I am 32 and my husband is 35. I agree with the previous poster -- most of us working stiffs don't want to sacrifice so many vacation days on a 10-day cruise. Alaska also traditionally has an "older" clientele, so that was another factor on our cruise.
At first I was a little concerned looking at all the cane's, walkers and wheelchairs in the hallway, but after our trip, I decided this was the way I wanted to travel from now on!
- Jogging track was empty all the time; I jogged by myself all the time.
- Exercise room was mostly empty all the time; I had no problem getting onto an excercise machine
- No loud, drunk people yelling everywhere on the boat.
- No "Macarena" by the pool!
- Generally people were laid back and not in a hurry...no pushing or shoving at any of the lines (except maybe for the Dessert Extraveganza)
- Got lots of great tips on future cruises and vacations from the people I met; actually lots or parenting tips too (we have 2 young boys).
- Sports deck with tennis, basketball and tennis was always available.
Generally this was a very QUIET ship, which is just what I was looking for on this vacation. Depending on what you are looking for though, this may or may not be a good fit for you.
