The first cruise we went on was sort of spur of the moment. We had a funky little cabin in bowels of the ship. We didn't have a clue what was going on and I could not, for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to sign up for another cruise while on the current one. I wasn't really impressed with cruising, but TBG liked it, so we took another and that was the one that hooked me.

I love being able to see a variety of places and have varying experiences all without having to pack and unpack. I love being on the sea without having to give up too many of my creature comforts. :D I love the people who we meet and the sense of adventure.

I love seeing and exploring new places. Even if you are only at a destination for short time. A lot to do in in a week or more. Great value for your money.
Sad to see that the pandemic has put the brakes on cruises.

My first job was as a computer operator for a cruise company US Lines, so I heard all these great stories about SS United States but I was a teenager. i Lived in nyc so very easy to take cruises, but i like to drink , gamble , love the simi all inclusive, the entertainment etc , was in my 20’s when starting to cruise solo.

I think cruising is so addictive because it's all about options. You can do absolutely nothing but relax completely, or you can pick from the million things going on at any given time. Or you can do both, all in the same day. You can eat allll the things, you can have a drink or 5 and leave the driving to the captain, you can shop, and gamble, and eat some more, and relax in a hot tub, and make new friends, and go see a show, and sink into a big comfy bed to sleep, and wake up in a whole new place to find adventures in. It's amazing. :)

I love the total lack of daily chores. I feel like I am treated like royalty. No cooking, dishes, making my bed, cleaning the floor, and entertainment at every corner. I can relax and just enjoy the fun stuff!! I SO miss my cruises this year. Praying I can sail soon.

It’s the beauty of being somewhere different daily without driving, moving luggage, etc. I feel safe. Also entertained daily. One of the best ways to learn about new locations. Then later, you can visit at length once you’ve made a visit for a day.

Well, never really thought about it at first. Then a cousin took a cruise, went down to see them off, an thought well... Did watch the Love boat, an wandered about it, then in 84 took my first caribbean cruise, got seasick the first night out, the waiter knew what was wrong with me, an gave me somethin, took it when I got back to the cabin, was fine the next day. Never looked back after that. Enjoy the meals, the travel & etc. Have run into some people who think, its a waste of time, can see the whole ship in an hr, an they wonder why I keep going back. Its exciting, just can't get enough of it. 30 + cruises now, an can't wait til cruising can begin again.

I sum it up as “one stop shopping”. Transportation, food and beverage, entertainment, constantly changing views, only pack and unpack one time (well, repeat to go home) and see multiple new and/or favorite places.

It's the safety factor for me...when it was family cruising it was fun but now that I cruise solo it's nice to not worry about sleeping in hotels and eating alone. I have 3000 others to share my day with. I can go on excursions with so many others and not worry. I now have a group of friends I cruise with and I do run into so many that I know on every sailing..it's like "home week." :)

I think cruising is like going to an all-inclusive. It's relaxing not having to think and plan too much -- where to go to dinner, how to get there, what to eat, where to go in the morning ... while I find all those things fun, too, cruising is much more relaxing.

Very, very good question. Don't think I can give any good or correct answer, but I'll put here few things why I love cruising.

- A cruise ship by itself, it's a beautiful technical creation. They get cooler and cooler year by year with all new ideas.
- As a vacation concept, a cruise is amazing. You get almost every day an new port to explore. Easy way to see new places around the world.
- Everything is pretty much ready, you don't have to worry about nothing, you find everything on the ship.
- Love to meet on the ship from around the world, talk where they are from, how many cruises they been on...
- Love also to talk with the staff, listen to them and their stories.
- Love the service onboard, usually better service on a cruise ship than on hotels or restaurants on land.
- Cruising is really relaxing, once you're out at sea, sitting on a loung chair at the pool you really get your mind of the everyday and stress.

Here is just few things that I came up, guess I could write four hours why I love cruising.

Love the sights, sounds and movement of the ocean, being pampered, enjoying delicious meals that I don't have to cook, having my room cleaned twice a day, the entertainment, the casino, and waking up to a new adventure each day.

I especially like not having to do chores! :DD

Easy to respond to that question. The food, the shows, the casino, the constant activities if you want that, the time to relax and unwind if you want that, the lectures, visiting many places while only having to pack and unpack once!
