I like staying in the Rocky Point area. That's on the causeway between Tampa and Clearwater, about 10 minutes from the airport but in the other direction from the ship. Rocky Point is great because it is right on Tampa Bay and has a great view of the water. A little more expensive to get to the ship, very little though and well worth it.In August we got a one bedroom suite with a great view of the Bay at the Doubletree Guest Suites through Priceline for $65 (Normally $149) We loved it there. They do have a free airport shuttle but you'd have to get a shuttle or Taxi to get to the pier. Again, in my opinion, well worth it. Sailport Suites is another popular hotel at Rocky Point.Just my =twocents
