We recently had our bathroom remodeled and we bought clear glass sliding shower doors. I haven't yet found a cleaner that takes away spots on the glass. Any suggestions or maybe what you have found to work best?
i have found that using a small squeegee daily after showering keeps the spots from forming at all. it's worth the couple of minutes it takes to do. i find that straight vinegar AND a microfiber rag work for me if i need to get at any spots. good luck. i'm sure others will provide good ideas.
Prevention is the only cure.I squeegee in my shower and take the towel I used on myself & dry all the chrome stuff.
We don't talk about dh's shower:X. He refuses to wipe it down and it is a grimy spotty wreck.
I recently bought some Kaboom "as seen on TV". Seemed to work on his grease encrusted shower. Not as easily as on TV though.
A long time ago my housekeeper told me of an old trick some hotels use. Take Old English Oil (the yellow colored one) and wipe down the glass and trim. Take a clean cloth and wipe off. May have to do this a couple of times then maybe on a monthly basis. We have hard water here in So Cal and I had a shower door for 16+ years that I squeeged daily and had minimal spots. Monthly it was wiped down with the oil. Still looked pretty good when we took it out.
I think a long time ago that Red posted something about using PAM, the cooking spray on the glass......much like using the Old English oil. I wonder about using RainX???? Might give that a try some time. We, too squeege after each shower and it works very well.
Pam and oil... does that really dissolve anything, or does it just make it transparent? I've wondered about that.
We use the Auto Shower sprayer also. We have a small shower, not a tub, and it works pretty well. But, it does miss a few spots. I think they have a new version of the sprayer out now that sprays in two levels.
