I would love some ideals on what to do in Grand Cayman we get in at 7:00 am and leave at 4:00. We love the beach , fun restaurants, funky bars, and snorkeling.

If you've never been to GC, there is only one thing you MUST do. Swim with the stingrays. Even if you hafta book it thru the ship. It is a once in a lifetime experience. Oh, and buy some Tortuga rum....

Take a short stroll to EDEN ROCK. There's a funky/fun bar there, The Paradise. You can enjoy WONDERFUL snorkeling right there. No beach, but an area where you can put a towel down and catch some sun.

Great place!

I have done Eden Rock & the Stingrays. If this is your first time in GC, the stingrays needs to be your first choice. It is a fabulous experience! Eden Rock is nice, but the stingrays are much, much better. You will never be closer to stingrays in your life, unless you go to Shark/Stingray Alley in Belize.
Our first visit to GC, we did the Island & Stingray City tour through the ship. We went to Hell, the Turtle Farm, Stingrays, & still had time to shop when we were done. Our second time in GC, we just went to Eden Rock, Hard Rock Cafe, & shopping. Third time to GC, we did the Atlantis Sub.

Have fun!!

Stingray City for sure! Book with Nativeway sports (they are on line), we paid 25 p/p. They picked us up at the dock and took us to their awesome boat. The tour operators were so wonderful with us! We went to Stingray City then to a secluded spot for snorkeling. Tortuga Rum and the Tortuga Rum cakes are a must. Get the 6 pack of rum cakes to take back to friends, neighbors and co-workers. Everyone here loved them! Have a BLAST!!

The Stingrays scare me!! :)

Now when I goto caymen I pay the $12 pp or whatever it is and goto a resort and lay on the beach. THe price includes transportation and 2 drinks and admission to the beach. We always have fun doing that.

Definitely Stingray City! But, having been to GC several times, I pay $4.00 for a taxi ride to the public beach across from the Holiday Inn. No admission fee, but it will cost you $10.00 each to rent a beach chair and get a dinky little bottled water. It's a beautiful beach, though, and has restroom facilities, a nice snack bar, and beach waiters. One thing about Cayman, though....your ship will have to anchor quite a ways out, and you'll be tendered in (on lifeboats). If the water is too choppy, you won't be able to tender ashore, and you'll miss the port. The reason ships have to anchor so far out is to protect the shallow coral reef that runs along that side of the island. If you're going during the spring/summer months, you'll have a better chance of getting ashore. There are lots of "disgruntled" posts about having to miss Grand Cayman due to choppy water. Have fun!!
