What cruise line has really surprised you in a good way?

We cruise normally twice a year and I have been cruising since the 70’s, we did msc seaside in there yacht club last year and I was very pleasantly surprised. I have been mainly cruising Celebrity and RCCL both in suites. we just loved there yacht club, somewhat similar to celebrity but with better entertainment. There were both inside and outside restaurants, great lounge with entertainment from about 5 to 11pm , free drink package that could be used anywhere on the ship, butler that escorted you to shows and off the ship. Definitely better food and service compared to CK on rccl but not as good as Celebrity Luminae. Brand new really nice private island . Outdoor area had pool and a few hot tubs.

Holland America.. The ships feel comfortable....The passengers are not all old like me. The ships are also generally smaller than other mainstream companies. My perks on X and RCL are missed though.

well..... two i guess and in different ways......
our very first cruise was on Carnival then a second on carnival our third was on Celebrity Meridian, an old lost in time liner but it was a step up , kind of. Then an RCI and wandered back to another Carnival then got introduced to Holland America .... Hello Kitty.... met what was to become a good friend {the captain} and many other HA friends but took an off the wall on Princess and found where we really belonged.
So both surprised us each in their own way.

I guess the one that surprised me the most was Carnival. I never thought from the pictures that I would like the decor but I did. The service and food have always been good on any Carnival ship I have been on and the staterooms were always larger then most I have been on in other ships and cruise lines. I enjoy Carnival it is not my favorite line but it did surprise me on how much I liked it and I wouldn't hesitate to cruise with them again if they were going where I wanted to go.

We have done several Holland America cruises , they all had a small group doing classical music most passengers on the audience were normally asleep, one of them was Panama Canal.

I was really pleased when we took a cruise on Blue Lagoon cruises (the Fiji Princess). While the cabins were tiny, they were very comfortable and the crew went out of their way to make you relaxed and happy. It was a great trip!

All of my HAL cruises have been 7 days or under. Alaska and West coasters. Never had an issue with falling asleep with the gang. lol. Been on some longer cruises on other lines that did though so I suspect HAL would be the same.

Been through the Canal a few times but not on HAL. There are always older folks on longer cruises regardless of Line. My next long one might find me sleeping it off more often also.
