It's the time for a crab fest, and we usually go to a school to partake, but the prices are now up to $40 per person! We figured we could do that for a little bit better.

I went to COSTCO today and picked up 30 lbs. of dungeness, and they are in the refrigerator right now getting into the right frame of mind to be cracked and cleaned! Hopefully 16 crabs (more in another refrigerator) will feed 9 people. Considering that my daughter won't eat more than a teeny bit, I and a few of the other ladies won't eat more than maybe 1/2 crab each, but I'm thinking the guys at least 1.5 crabs each. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty!

Tomorrow, we will be joined by friends old and new (DD's boy friend's parents are coming, haven't met them yet!) to join us for a good time.

Menu will be CRAB, some melted butter with garlic, a fully loaded salad, some rice or pasta, and garlic bread. A few appetizers and dessert will round off the meal. Of course, there will be wine, water, cola, whatever is your bev of choice.

I'll post more pics tomorrow so you can enjoy it along with us.

Thanks, MaryAnn, I love garlic so much, I hadn't thought that there might be people who don't care for it or can't eat it. Guess I'll ask before I include garlic in the butter sauce.

I'm on my way.
I won't say anything to my dd. If she knew she would eat them all before we could get to them.
SHe's been known to eat 3 buckets of King Crab legs on all you can eat nights.

Looks and sounds good Glo!

I'll second the vote to try the Rustic Inn in FLL. We ate there last September and it was great!

Looks and sounds delicious and like tons of fun! Glo, I steam clams and mussels at our 7/4 shindig. I melt 2 pots of butter and put garlic in one, and leave the other plain for the non garlic lovers :thumb How about some Bloody Marys made with clamato juice with the appetizers! ;) ENJOY your day!

The crabs at our local Raley's were $6.99/lb. I called COSTCO and the gal told me that on Friday morning they would have Dungeness for $4.99/lb. I flew out there yesterday morning, and they were $5.99/lb. Oh well.

When I told the seafood guy I wanted 15 crabs, he told me to go "over there" and ask for a case.

1 case = 16 crabs = 30 lbs. = $140.00 = good times!
