Walkie talkies

Do the kids programs supply parents with walkie talkies? Or is it better to buy your own set at home & bring them along? Ideas? Thanks.

P.S. How do you add the countdown to your post?

No they do not give out 2 ways. They will give you a pager if you are leaving a young child, so they can call you if there is a problem. Lots of families bring their own 2 ways. Better get one with alot of channel choices, to stay away from cross traffic, especially on the big ships.

Thanks, Schooner. I was leaning towards getting our own anyway, but wanted to be sure. Our boys will be 14 & 11 by then, so maybe it's for OUR (Mom & Dad's)security!

We just bought walkie-talkies at Home Depot (if you have them). They are 20 channel with an 8 mile radius for $39. We need them here for different things but thought they'd come in handy when cruising to find each other!

I dont go on a cruise with out them. In our case its all adults and the only way we find each other when one goes wondering off into different shops. Didn't need to use them much on the ship though, but they are great in port.
