I am planning to go on the Freedom next Fall, and would like to hear of anyone's experience with Promenade Cabins on the [similar] Voyager Class. I am particularly concerned about noise, or lack thereof. I found one post from about a year ago in a Search that said No Problem with noise.

Any recent experience?

Thanks.

I have stayed in promenade cabins on 2 ship, neather did I have trouble with noise from the promenade. During the night they also turn the lights down so there isn't a problem with that eather. I think there great rooms. Enjoy the Freedom of the Seas!

=yeah I too have had two Promenade Cabins. Never heard any noise at all and my first one was on deck 6, just one deck above the promenade. They are really =coolsign rooms and well sound proofed. I say go for it :thumb

I stayed in a Promenade cabin last year on VOS and had no problem with noise. This might sound obvious but don't forget to close the curtains before undressing. I forgot a couple of times, but I didn't see anyone laughing across the way so I think I got away with it.

We stayed in one on the Explorer last year. Only noise we ever heard was from the parade and of course the adjoinig cabin next to us (lol). Dont take a cabin that has a connector door. You hear everything and they hear you

Thanks to all who commented on my original post. It looks like there would not be a problem with a PR cabin on Freedom EXCEPT, according to the posted deck plans which may be preliminary, ALMOST ALL of the PR cabins have connecting doors! And most of the few that don't adjoin one of those undefined areas!

I do appreciate that heads ups regarding the doors for any category. I just may solve the problem by splurging on an E2 balcony for about $230pp more than a PR!

Thanks again.

I agree with gkrebs! We stayed in adjoining cabin on the Mariner. I swear, there was a man in there who thought he was Barry White. Then his wife/girlfriend (or possibly even mother, given the content of the conversation) would come in and yell at him for doing whatever or yell at him to hurry up so they could go wherever. It got pretty comical at times, but it would have been nicer if we couldn't hear every word they said! :)
