Leaving in 4 days to Viking Aegir cruising from Budapest to Passau. We are checking the weather and of course packing layers and rain gear. Any advice about whether we need Forints in Budapest or can we use Euros? We are excited to embark on our 2 nd Viking River Cruise!

A lot of people (especially street food, etc.) will not take Euros. And if you walk into a shop and use Euros, they will give you change in Forints. We used credit cards except for street food, shots, etc. We were there for a Christmas Market cruise and that meant a lot of small purchases. You should probably be OK. If you really need them, there are ATMs everywhere.

Don't forget your water bottles to avoid dining room charges. Viking provides great food and wine but staying hydrated is important.
