I just recently booked her for the 3/27/04 sailing and can find relatively little info about the ship on the internet. Most of the brief reviews that I have read have been positive, but in depth info is hard to find. Since she is about the size of the S class ships of Holland America, I am hoping for a similar experience. We are booked in cabin #8506 and would love to see some pics. In any event, the 8 hour dirive to Tampa is a definite plus for us.

Great ship! There is a wrap around promanade on deck 6. Two story dining room,Really nice atrium with glass elevators and a beaded waterfall. There are 3 hot tubs by the pool and they are covered. Then there is another hot tub in the workout area right as you go in by the window so you can be in AC. the standard cabins are small but comfortable with good storage, the balcony rooms are nicer with a bit more room and having the balcony is a plus. There a safes in all the cabins also. It is a classy ship. Yes as you can see I really enjoy the Nordic Empress :lol :lol

Been on NE many times out of NYC & enjoy it. It's a little "older" (1990's vintage) so it doesn't have some of the jazz of newer ships, but it's pretty & very easy to get around. It was designed for shorter (4-day) trips. My only complaint is that the pool area can get a little crowded on sunny sea days. Rooms are standard, but comfortable. I find it's the staff that makes the ship & I've always had a good experience on NE. Cruising her again in August. Have fun!

I was just going to say, "Ask Laurie"! Congrats again on the booking. The NE seems to have quite a following of loyal cruisers.

My husband and I were on the Nordic Empress during the Christmas cruise last December 21-28, 2002, and had a wonderful time. The ship is in immaculate condition and the service and food were terrific. Would highly recommend it to anyone. The cabins are small, but we knew that ahead of time so not a shock. This was our 7th cruise in 9 years and first one on Royal Caribbean (previously on Norwegian and Carnival). I was also concerned before we went because this is an older, smaller ship, but not to worry....we preferred it to the huge Carnival ships. There are three days at sea, so if you prefer to be on a new island every day, this isn't for you. Compared to our other cruises, two at sea days are enough and three is one too many. However, again I would highly recommend the overall package....so much so that we are booked again on the Nordic Empress for the Christmas cruise this year!

I really like the ship. I have sailed her 6 times, none very recently. She is so pretty and just the right size for people like me who are not into the Megaliner thing.
