The vet couldn't find a reason for the swelling, he thinks it is connected to the other bite. He took some fluid out of it, and said it is not puss-y, just bloody, so he thinks it will be OK, just to keep an eye on it and if it gets larger he will put him on antibiotics.

I went ahead and made the appt for THE surgery, next Friday. He said they don't usualy like to do it this young, but I told him he is already showing spraying behavior, backing up to things, raising up on his hind legs and shaking his tail. Nothing sprays out yet, but I want to nip that in the bud. So, next Friday, he will get snipped, rabies shot, the lump checked on while he is out, and declawed. All at once to get it all over with. The vet recommended the declawing,, especially at this young age. He said it is not cruel and after a day or two he will never know what happened. He said one of his clients has a cat who claws the furniture, and she refuses to have him declawed. Her solution is to keep him in the basement and not let him out. I don't want pets on that basis. I have to have my babies with me. That is what worries me about Simon's surgery, they will keep him overnight, and I can pick him up on Saturday.

My poor baby. He is terrified to be in the car. He cried, and kept sticking his paw out of the carrier if I took my hand away. He even chewed on my finger, which I didn't mind until he got me between his new molars. Ouch.

He is very glad to be home, and I think Maxie missed him, because he came right away when I let him out of the carrier, and licked him. Scoots, however, hissed at him. I guess he smells like vets office. Never a dull moment around here. Dr Early asked me ho he was settling in. I told him I had forgotten what life is like with a 3 month old kitten. He asked if Simon were into everything. I said yes, and his favorite stunt was swinging from my living room drapes. Oh, well, I was thinking about replacing those, now I have an excuse. As soon as the claws are gone, lol.

Maxie sleeps with me a lot, and this morning very early he came and jumped into bed. Well, his little shadow jumped in bed, too. This is the first time he has done that. Trouble was, he landed on my foot, and immediately learned that age old game, mouse under the covers. Try to get back to sleep with a kitten chewing on your toes :kitten.

DITTO question here.

Thanks for the update on Simon. WHAT IS THE MEDICAL UPDATE ON CONNIE????

I have an appt. Forgot I already had one scheduled. I will talk to him. Things are better tonight, anyway. thanks for caring cc

The joy of pets. I laid on the bed for a few minutes yesterday and had all three cats and the BIG DOG, as I call her, on the bed...I was almost hanging off....they love their mama. Just wish vet bills were not so bad, then I could have more. I am glad it does not seem to be too serious. Best of luck to all of you.

:wave :wave :wave

Connie thank you for the update. I never get tired of seeing photos or hearing stories about pets.

Good going. You're all set now. It is common to keep them overnite if there's a declaw at neutering. I'm sure you and the *boys* will miss him while he's gone. Hopefully this will be the last vet visit for awhile. And, hopefully this will be his only time hospitalized.

I hope his lump heals quickly and I hope he has an easy recovery from the surgeries. He's had a tough life so far and deserves to live out his life safe, secure and loved.

Glad the news wasn't bad. Oh boy, life with a kitten. I remember that. Climbing up your pant legs, hanging on the window and door screens, laying in their bed waiting for you to come home from work... kittenhood is sweet, isn't it? Painful at times, but sweet....

What's going on with CC? I guess I missed an episode!

Glad to hear you have Simon set for those surgeries. I wish him a speedy recovery. And take care of yourself too...we worry about you and your guys need you to be around for a long time.

Glad you are ontop of it Connie. And while Simon won't be full of energy and probably a little upset with you next week it is better that all of these things be done now before he gets to spraying and clawing things up too much.
