I had to break the news to Pucci this morning that Mommy is going bye-bye - I don't know who's more distressed at "the news", he or I. He watched me pack (someone was helping me because of my bad back). Either Pucci's nose was in a suitcase, or he snuggled in to separate me from the suitcase. Please give your dog some scritches from me. I understand exactly how you - and your dog - feel.
