Update on my medical problem

For those that asked to let them know what is going on with my health problem, I couldn't stand to wait until March 3rd to see a specialist, so I went to my family doctor. I was and still am in a lot of pain. She was very concerned about my overall pain in my stomach and lower abdomen, so she sent me to get a Cat Scan . I had to take that barrium liquid...yuck...it was horrible. The results came back that I have Diverticulitis, a very painful infection of pockets inside your stomach. I am taking 2 kinds of antibiotics . Diverticulosis is the stomach condition ( which is pockets in the stomach) and Diverticulitis is the infection of the stomach pockets. It is said that over 50% of people over 60 years old has Divertculosis, but I started early! I am still going to the specialist to make sure all else is well. Thanks for asking about how I feel!

Cricket - glad you found out what it was. Jim has had this for years. Now that you know what it is - it is easy to control. Not fun - but easy. NO nuts, seeds, or leafy lettuce. But, I agree you should still go get is checked out by your other doctor. Good Luck! and thanks for the update.

Take care!

Thanks for letting us know. When we didn't hear, I got worried about you. Alf has that too and his trigger is corn on the cob. Just when we moved to corn country! And have a huge cornfield at our back door! He is fine as long as he stays away from corn.
Take care.

I'm glad you had that checked out. I'm beginning to think diverticulitis is not so uncommon. My sister had it. Roy's brother had it. My dad didn't know he had it til he started hemorrhaging - he had been taking too much ibuprofen for arthritis pain. Take care of yourself Cricket. Listen to your doctor - I hope you soon will be well.
