We have used several options. We have often went to InsureMyTrip.com and picked one of the recommended packages offered. Three or four times we used Carnivals insurance and once we used Allianz by buying protection for a whole year. Look at their coverage amounts and I'd be especially aware of evacuation coverage since that will be the most expensive event you might encounter. Also, if you buy the insurance within a short number of days after booking your cruise it will cover pre-existing conditions. In any case, I would definitely recommend some form of travel insurance. I think the only time we used it was when flights were cancelled out of Ft. Lauderdale late in December one year. Our insurance covered our hotel, meals, and taxi for that night.
