Dover
We had a great view of the white cliffs as we sailed in. The Captain really gave us a scenic tour.
We had planned on doing a scenic boat trip along the coast, but there was no need. So we got off and caught the bus out to Dover Castle. We did the whole thing…the wartime caves, the ancient caves ( we liked them best) and walking around the castle. I gave up counting the steps.
Portland….Weymouth
The last time I was in Weymouth was with my Aunty Bet. So it was a nostalgic trip for me.
Portland had provided free double decker bus transfers from the ship and into Weymouth; so that was our mode of transportation. It was a lovely hot day, we worked up a sweat walking along the coast road into town and to the beachfront.
We walked around the small winding streets and along the beach , just enjoying the views and people watching.
