Ketchikan is a great place to do a fishing excursion if you like to fish. Kayaking is fun here and you may have a chance to see some seals while kayaking. The totem parks are quite interesting and usually only take a few hours and leave you some time to see some of the town. I found the harbor tour to be more interesting than doing a land tour of the town. You get to see a lot of the town from a harbor tour plus it gives a lot more information. JMHO.Juneau is great for whale watches and flight tours. Mendenhall glacier is nice. There is also rafting down river from the Mendenhall glacier here. Juneau has several tours for gold mines or panning for gold. It also has a very good center for getting information on the lifestyle of the natives that lived there years ago. The tram can provide some great views from high up. The one place in town that most go is the Red Dog Saloon.Skagway is great for flight tours. The White Pass Railway has unbelievable views. A trip into the Yukon can amaze you. The town itself is well worth walking to see the Gold Rush Museum and some interesting old buildings. The Red Onion Saloon is a popular stop. You can also take trips from Skagway over to Haines which is about a 45 minute boat ride.
