What comes after Thursday? Well Friday of course. :grin We have almost made it to the weekend! Woo hoo. The weather here right now is thunderboomers. And a tiny bit of rain. But the weekend is supposed to be record breaking heat. Well into the 90's like the past few days.

Here in Golden there are a million cottonwood trees. Right now if there is no wind there is a blanket of fuzz everywhere. But when there is a wind it looks like snow. They say that people shouldn't be having allergies from the stuff. Well guess what if you suck that fuzz into your respiratory system you sneeze and stuff up and the whole lot. Some of these allergists are nuts... Don't breathe in the cottonwood fuzz people!

Saw another hummer yesterday morning. They aren't on the feeders though they are in the flower beds. So if you are having trouble attracting them, plant some snap dragons and fox glove.

Last night I had to attend a service for a co-worker. I ended up being an usher. It was sooooo funny to see my old boss. I was helping the elderly off of their buses and she decided to try to help. She is a failure at helping people and finally gave up. I so love working with the elderly and talking with them. They just grab onto me and walk holding onto my arm. Only one admin from the group at that mortuary was in attendance for this man who has worked for us 55 years. Very telling about who they are. But so many people came up to me and hugged me and talked to me. Asked me how I was doing. Some said I have never looked so good. I guess the lack of daily stress in the old place is good for me. So the moral here is, don't stress it makes you look bad! Destressing makes you glow!

Well everyone I hope your day is a good one. If it is raining where you are bring your umbrella. Don't drive through big puddles you never know how deep they are. And if it is hot and sunny bring your umbrella to sheild you from the hot sun. And, hydrate keep that water going in. And if there are allergins in the air don't suck them up your nose, or pickles either! =lolgang Tip toe through the gardens and watch for those hummers.. but don't forget your camera. And if there are rabbits chewing away at your flowers try giving them your birth control pills to control the population........NOT put a few marigolds around they don't like the smell of those.

Judy, my MIL is having a rough time with the allergies right now, and she blames the Cottonwood. She finally went to the doctor and now she's on antibiotics and sterroids. I hope that clears it up. She has COPD and does end up in the hospital when things flare up. DH is going up there this weekend to help out and possibly talk to the doctor.

Myself, I battled a migraine last night. The weather has changed drastically around here, very cold last night. I don't mind the cooler weather, but the weather spikes always seem to cause a migraine. Took the meds, and now it's just about gone.

Looking forward to the weekend here too...

Too funny that you should metion Cottonwood. We used to have 5 of them trees in our yard. It looked like snow on our grass until the middle of July! First thing we did was cut all them down. Still have alot in our sub division - - hey we used to be under Lake Erie! lol

Rain here again today also. Just enough to mess things up. No clue what the weekend holds except we are going to see Jersey Boy's on Saturday rain or shine! lol

Have a great day!

:wave we have Boxwoods, and other "soft trees" on our acreage and the "yellow dusts " are on the top of the pool..:(.. and Mark needs to vacuum it all gone but with rains for the next 6 days guess you know it's useless.

Hi all

I have a different allergy problem. I have multi food allergies and years ago had to have shots weekly and take food drops daily to desensitize. Have done great for years and now all of a sudden they are back with a vengeance. I become very congested with drainage which makes the throat sore plus I break out in a rash - finally figured out what's setting them off - Caffeine of all things so no more diet sodas unless caffeine free, no more coffee and no more chocolate until it clears up completely and then will have to be very careful for awhile.

Rain here early this morning so of course with the thunder the dogs woke me. Made for a short night since I don't get off work until 1am but it was a short storm so was able to return to sleep without difficulty.

Now just catching up until time to return to work.

Allergies for me too - I take Alavert every day once the trees start budding and I start mowing lawn. After the first hard freeze in the fall it gets much better.

BJ - glad to see you starting a daily post again. Love the new title!

K.

Cottonwood and I don't get along at all, so I've been coughing for a week. There is so much of it around here because we only live two blocks from the Arkansas River, you can't breathe without getting some of the darned stuff.
