Since this will be the last, official "Duck Cruise", I thought we should have some sort of rememberance of the the lady who started the "Duck Crew".

As a minister, I'm going to host a quiet gathering of friends and conduct a brief, private service on the fantail as we leave the Hawaiian Islands that Mary Ann so loved. Nothing fancy or formalized; just a simple opportunity, for those who wish, to recall how she impacted on our lives with her gentle touch. We'll close with a prayer, and a symbolic casting of leis into the sea, as we commend her spirit to our memories and her soul to God. I'm hoping that this will provide some degree of the closure we failed to realize when she was so abruptly taken from us.

"Aloha", in Hawiian, means 'affection', 'peace', 'compassion' and 'mercy'. Since the middle of the 19th century, it also has come to be used as an English greeting to say both 'hello' and 'goodbye'. "Mele Ana" is Hawiian for Mary Ann.

So ..."Aloha Mele Ana" will be a an opportunity for the last Duck Crew to say, "Farewell and Godspeed" to our beloved "Mama Duck".

I'll add your info to the Manifest, and check w/Ellen. Thanks ...
