OK last time I went on a cruise (2004 w/Costa) we bought a bunch of those mini or airline bottles at our first port for around $1.00 each and were able to take them back to our room no question. When security checked our bags they even looked inside and saw them and said nothing. My folks had even bought a large bottle of something and they took that but left the mini's. Was this a Costa thing or is it the norm.
