We also keep the Christmas tree up through January 6th. We enjoy it all that time. We set up the tree on Dec 15th (a little later than usual, which is Dec. 1st). When we had a live tree, it went up a few days before Christmas so it could stay through January 6th.Actually we don't take down our tree. Once all decorations are off, it becomes a Valentine's tree, decorated in pink and white fluff and lace, with a large red heart at the top.
