There’s no way to work in Russia anymore. I am Stan Jacox, a US citizen working for a local St.Petersburg travel company “DenRusâ€Â. As their PR manager I write on different forums on their behalf. The company is actually American, they have a great American management. We provide services for American cruise ship passengers who love what we do because our service is much cheaper than what they offer on board. It was easy until recently, nobody cared what we were doing, but it’s not the same way anymore.
I knew that Americans working in Russia have to deal with threats, bribes, deception, buying politicians – this all is a standard Russian business practice of the old guard.
Today as American citizens working in Russia we see that deception and bribes are at the root of the city governorship. I met the governor Matvienko in person a couple of times and she is a disgusting woman. Companies supported by people like Matvienko, Putin and other old school Soviet era KGB types don’t let new modern business practices that are not tied with that regime to take hold in Russia. Something has to be done – there are other places in the world one can enjoy.
