hi...
are these soda cards worth the $20 (or is it more) we are cruising on the navigator. are the kids just limited to sodas or can they use these cards for iced tea or shirley temples (or any "virgin drinks" ) ??

how accessible is drinking water on the ship? i constantly have a bottle of water in my hand. are there just water fountains or do they give you bottled water?

thanks.

Iced tea, lemonade, and other juices are available throughout the day at no additional charge. The soda cards are good just for cans of soda, sorry no virgin drinks!

Drinking water is also available throughout the ship, although they ask you to not refill water bottles at the dispensers that also dispense ice for health reasons. You can fill your bottle in your stateroom, and others may have ideas of where else you can fill them. Having never been on the Navigator others might have more/better info.

Enjoy your cruise!

I always have a bottle of water in hand as well. I did not have any problems. You can request a glass of water at any bar free of charge. There are bottles of water in your stateroom, but they charge for that. My husband and used two of the bottles and just refilled them in our stateroom for the days we were in port (we went to Mexico... don't drink the water!). Tap water in your stateroom isn't bad.

Have fun!

From the RCI website: Math comes out to a total of $48.30 for an adult ($32.30 for a child) for a 7 day cruise.

The soda deal is worth it for the kids, but not for the adults. I would not buy an adult soda deal again. It is also tap soda you get, not cans.

On Empress of the Seas at the beginning of July it was cans. I didn't see a fountain anywhere. Does it vary by ship?

My husband found the soda card to be worth the money. Of course he found out the cost of each drink and did some calculations to ensure that he got enough drinks each day to make it worth it. We also would go into the bars and he would get 2 at a time which meant I would also get a few prepaid sodas.

The main thing he liked was the convience of not having to swipe his card and sign something each time he got a soda. Instead he just flashed his card with the sticker and was on his way. In the dining room, once the waiter knew he had a sticker, he had soda with every meal.

We remember the cost being a flat fee of something like $32, but I'm sure it increases each year.

I realized that between the all the coffee, water, orange juice, and cocktails I drank, the soda card wasn't worth it for me personally.

Before we boarded ship , I packed cans of ginger ale in case of seasickness. When we arrived in Bermuda, you could buy soda in port and bring it aboard.

I also realized later in the trip, that the bartenders were turning a blind eye to people who would order two sodas with one soda card.

The bartenders use a soda/water gun for the drinks.
