Silly Sign and Sail question...

Ok, here's a silly question. Do Carnival's Sail and Sign cards come with a lanyard or wristband? Or are they simply a credit card? If they are simply credit cards, I will definitely be bringing my own "phone cord" type wristbands, a lanyard or two and a hole punch!!!

Thanks for all the help, this is a great message board!

You might want to ask when you board if you can punch holes in your S&S card. It's got the magnetized strip on the back that has your photo and booking information. It's also your room key. You have to swipe it every time you buy anything or get off and back on the ship. I carry mine in a hard plastic water wallet that has a cord on it, so I can put it around my neck or wrap it around my wrist.

CCL only provides the card--no wristband, lanyard nor hole. I use a plastic case that I hang around my neck. Or you could use a plastic protector sleeve that will hold 1-2 cards and it can be attached to a wristband or lanyard. I just prefer the plastic case as it protects not only my S&S card but also my credit card from the elements and has room for my lip screen which is always a must when cruising. Don't need sand scratching my magnetic strip!! :)

Seems like I've read somewhere that you can get the hole punched at the Casino...possibly along with the deal that goes around your neck. I'm not sure if you have to use it to play or not in order to receive this service.

Carnival will let you punch a hole in the card, as long as it does not effect the magnetic stripe. Saw people in the pool with them around necks.

Walmart sells the plastic card holder on a lanyard that you can put around your neck for agout .97. They are in the wallet department near the watches. Has a slip in and a zipper compartment, both are see-thru.

The pursers desk and sometimes the casino will punch a hole in your card (in the proper place) to which you can attach a lanyard, your own or one purchased on the ship (the ship purchased one is expensive).

I have heard that if you go to the casino, someone there will give you a free lanyard and punch a hole in the S&S card. You might try that.

You don't have to punch any holes in your card to carry it around. I just returned from the Glory and quite a few people in our party purchased something in the gift shop for your cards/drink cards. You can carry it around your neck and it has a clip on the bottom for you to attach your cards to. The kids wore these 24/7 and never lost the cards. Hope that helps....

Go to the casino cashier, tell them you want to join Ocean Players club [free] and you want your S&S card punched. They will sign you up for the OP and give you a flouresent springy plastic lanyard [that you keep]. The OP club tracks your play and has cash and merchandise gifts for high play.
The Purser's desk will also punch your S&S card but they have no lanyards. Purser punches a hole in the card. Casino punches a slot in the card [better].

Stover,
Tipping for ANYONE over two years old is $10. per day. This is added to the S&S account the first day. A case could be made that kids should be more, they get the best service.
You don't actually sign your S&S card, you only sign for your purchases. You can set up the account so that the kids CANNOT make purchases. Then you buy them a soft drink card so they can get sodas without a S&S card.
