We are sailing the Grand Princess from Galveston on April 2, 2006. Sure would appreciate some advice about getting a shuttle from Houston to the port. Thanks, everyone!
We are also cruising this ship next April 1, 2006. There will be me, my hubby, 3 girls (18, 18, and 15), 1 boy, (14), and my M-I-L. I would also love some info on transportation from the airport in Houston. Thanks!
Karen
Round trip shuttles from Houston to Galveston is $66 per person. Travel is by bus. Princess representative meets you at airport, directs you to waiting area for bus. At the conclusion of the cruise, busses are waiting to take you back to the airport. I have done this twice and am doing it again for the Grand Princess on April 1, 2006. Your travel agent or Princess personnel can help you in booking this shuttle.
For a limo with no one else in the car with you, personalized service and speedy transfers, it's LESS than the Princess transfers. We did the cruise line transfers once and learned our lesson. =eek
=yeah that is so the truth... I'm with Lady Jag..we do NOT do the cruise line transfers anymore either..the smell of diesel waiting for the buses; to fill........let's just say..I have nausea for hours.....we either cab it, or van it, or town car it versus cost..and we are ALWAYS cost less than the cruise line..Good luck..she gave an excellent link........Joanne
Great! We just booked with them and so did our friends for Dec. Very professional and terrific prices. "Ray" was the one we booked with. Everything is kept in their computers, so you can re-confirm before you leave. They pick you up in the baggage area with your name on a sign.
We've been using limos for the past 4 years or so and believe me, it's worth the little extra! :thumb
We had pre arranged for a shuttle but our flight was delayed and the shuttle only ran at specific times so we missed it. We got our money refunded and walked out to the curb and took a cab and it was great, cost $70 for three of us including tip, no waiting. Very knowledgeable driver pointed out landmarks along the way. I agree about the cruise line shuttles you hurry up to wait because they don't leave until full and there is always someone that takes their sweet time getting to the bus.
