We have been on the Serenade two times...once in the Caribbean in March and most recently in Alaska. We LOVE the ship. Our first sailing we were in room 8532 with a balcony. The room was a little smaller than we had on the Adventure and Voyager, it was an E1. It worked for 3 of us though since we spent most our of time out of it or on the balcony. It had the two twin beds made into a queen, a pullman, and a single sofa bed. The location was good....no noise problems at all. The last cruise we were in 3564 with a large window, no balcony. (We booked very last minute and went cheap.) The room was nice for two of us. We used it as two twin beds. We had a full size sofa, but did not know if it was a sofa bed. The location was fine, but some strange noises...creaking and a few early morning noises from storage below us....nothing we couldn't handle though. We were nicely positioned between two elevators. We are now looking at another cruise in 2005 on the Serenade and will definately be back in the balcony rooms. It's just nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view. BTW...both rooms were on the same side of the ship. There were pros and cons. As stated previously, the fort was fantastic to see as we left San Juan. In the ports it was hit or miss as to which side was facing the island. As we came back up from Barbados, we had the best side for viewing the islands which the Captain took us very close too and gave us great info for each.
