Has anyone got the carnival credit card? I was thinking of getting it, but would like some feed back from anyone that has an opinion on it. Please let me know if you have it and if you don't because of some reason that you don't like about the terms.

Thanks,

Terri

I have just applied for it and am going to use it as a debit card. Putting my gas and groceries on it then paying it off each month. I dont think its going to be bad if you use it that way!

Thank you Jason for your reply. I actually use a discover card now for everything I buy ( I don't like to carry cash) and I just pay it off each month. It works well do to the fact that I get the cash back, but I was thinking of getting the Carnival Master Card and using it the same way. Some people don't take Discover but will take Master Card. For the purchases that don't take Discover right now I am using a Visa, but it doesn't give me anything for using them. I like the thought that I get something back. I put around $2,000.00 to $4,000.00 a month on my Discover. Like I said I use it for everything and just pay it off so I don't even care what the apr is.

I have the Sea Miles card and so far I like it! It only takes 23,000 points to earn a $500 discount off the best negotiated price for any cruise on any ship, on amy cruise line; I really like that. Oh, and you automatically earn 5,000 points the first time you use the card. It is also good for a lot of other things like discounted airfare, etc. One other thing, there is no expiration date for points earned.

So, Cruzman, it can be used on ANY cruise line? We plan on getting the card soon, and especially like that you get double miles for Carnival purchases. How does the redemption work?

Cruzman,

Did you change over from the old capital one Carnival card?

In answer to Redcrown; yes, I cashed in all of my Capital One points and changed over to the SeaMiles card. Of the 28,000 points I had accumulated, I used 25,000 as a $500 discount on my April, 2006 cruise on the Glory, and the rest earned me a couple of bottles of champagne.

Thanks cruzman. I had been able to get $1000 off under the old capital one card and have like 52,000 points on her. I am unable to book anything before May 31st in order to use them so I guess I wll just have to transfer them over. It's too bad we can only use up to $500 off. I guess i will use the points for the air miles as I can not see me booking an inside or an outside cabin. I am spoiled by the balcony now!!! :)

I have the MBNA NCL card. You get $3 for every $100 charged up to $90in any one month and limited to $1000 total credit per year. You can redeem only in $500 lots and it is only good on any NCL cruise. If you have kids in college and can charge tuition monthly-it's great. Got $1000 off my last cruise.
