Planning an 11- night Rome round-trip cruise stopping at Dubrovnik, Albania, Bari, Corfu, Olympia, Messina and Salerno. Should I be worried about rough seas?
Well not having been there so no personal knowledge but any storm at sea will cause conditions that may not comfortable for some. Doesn't matter if its a big sea/lake or what ever. So the answer is. MAYBE. Depends on your personal level of concerns. Weather and time of year can change things over night. Check with a good travel agent. Depending on the size of your ship also. But even huge ships with stabilizers can not guarantee a completely flat ride if mother nature acts up.
Hi
We sailed in early November on that route. It gets predictably windy in Messina Straits but I don’t recall it being rough…as BSeaBob said.. all relative to the conditions, ship and your sensitivity but my bets would have been on this area over the Caribbean, Pacific or Atlantic. Additionally, however, my first time hearing of a Medi-storm this year!
