I just got back from a 14 days cruise on the Ryndam, what a beautiful ship!.
everything went perfect. The cabin steward, waiters, ship staff and espically the
ship captain Fran. as he likes to roll his rrrrrrrs, This is my fourth cruise with
holland America. I couldn"t have ask for a better cruise. I will be BACK with them!!

We have sailed many times on the RRRRRRRRRyndam - most recently was 20 days in November 2005.

We were also lukcy to have FRRRRRans Consen - he IS a hoot.

The entire ship burst out laughing when we told everyone that the day before (can't remember the exact date) had been his birthday and nobody had remembered!!!

One of the other Captains warned me about Captain Consen's booming voice and exaggerated RRRR's -first time I heard him at life boat drill, I burst out laughing. People must have thought I was looney.

We knew about his booming voice and his rrrrrrrrrr's before we got on the ship as well.

It was interesting that on the Amsterdam, Captain van den Berg on our first formal night tried to do the same thing when he said "Amsterrrrrrrdam".

We returned today from a few days post cruise stay in Tampa after 14 glorious days on Ryndam.

We had a Fantastic time on Ryndam..........and totally agree that Captain Frans is Grrrrrrrreat!!! My DH waited each day to hear his 'from the bridge' messages. With all of our HAL cruises, this happens to be the first time we have sailed with him and DH says he will go out of his way to find a chance to sail with him again.

We found Ryndam to be a wonderful ship with an outstanding crew. We had a wonderful cabin steward, our dining team (all of them) were excellent.......We wanted for absolutely nothing.

We had magnificent weather and the smoothest seas maybe ever in our cruising experience.
Our biggest surprise was how much we enjoyed Bonaire and Isla de Margarita. We had a good time in both ports.....much better than we expected.

Great, great cruise but it's good to be home.

We have done three cruises on the Ryndam: Caribbean, Mexican Riveria, and a back to back to Alaska out of Vancouver. Always had great service and wonderful total shipboard experience.
