Thanks for the pictures of the stumps, K2. Now I can see what your neighbors are dealing with. And yes those stumps can be cut closer to the ground before decent sized stump grinders grind what's left below ground level. Tree services hate using their chain saws close to the ground because the bark is full of dirt and sand. Which quickly dulls the blades of chains saws. It's costly but taking everything below dirt level can be done. And is done regularly around here on trees that size. Our windows are cleaned on a regular basis. But before I had the cataracts removed, it was like looking out of windows that hadn't been cleaned in 10 years. (I never realized how bad my vision had become over the decades, since everything fogged up so slowly.) Like Lee, I always ask for morning doctor appointments. I sure have got a doozy today. I've got a routine CT exam which is at 6:45. I'd bet that one, or both of us, will head back to bed when we get back home.
