Back from the doctor's office. It all went well. He got the results of the bone density scan and said that there is some thinness, but not to the osteoporosis stage. I'm staying on prednisone for like 2 more months and then we'll see. I go back to see this doctor in 3 months.
He also gave me a referral to a new PCP. I was seeing only a physician's assistant and all she ever did was dispense more meds and give referrals for other procedures within their huge group. They send you to their own place for many tests and no one there ever speaks English. Then they send you to one of their specialists. In the time I went to that office (7 years), I went through 4 different doctors. No one stays. I'm glad to have this referral to a doctor who is in the Advent Health group and is located right at Celebration Hospital where all my records are!
Kathie - Great pictures. The flowers look beautiful. They don't do well here in Florida unless you water them every day. I tried a number of times in Ocala, but even in the shade they would be lying on the ground every morning. That's for explaining about the new priest. He's definitely got a good deal all around.
By the way, today is NOT Bert's birthday. It is tomorrow. That's why the gang is coming for dinner. And yes, there will be a Carvel ice cream cake!
Karen - Sorry you ran short on sod. Bet you could kick yourself for not listening to that lady at the sod place. Nice picture of Wendy. She has a pretty smile. Glad she had that hat on. Should get a bit of relief from the heat today. It may not even hit 90! Almost a fall day in Florida, except for the humidity.
Dave - Even more doom & gloom news out of Afghanistan today with that suicide bombing right outside the airport and killing Americans & Afghans. Haven't gotten to read too many details about it yet.
Lee - You are so lucky to have that nice park to take walks in with your babies. This was definitely a good move for you, Lu-Ann and your dogs. How's your heart rate after a walk like that? Do you have a pulse/ox or can you get that information on your watch like so many others can today?
Just got finished with lunch and need to go to Publix for some of the last stuff I need for dinner tomorrow, but we can't go yet. We're waiting for a delivery from UPS of the last of the wine I ordered a couple of weeks ago. The email I got said that it would be delivered between 11:45 and 3:45.
Our dinner last night of baked stuffed zucchini was delicious. Everyone loved it and said I will have to make it again. It's a bit messy to fill the zucchini, but it was worth it to get to the finished product. I actually made 4 zucchini instead of the 3 the recipe called for and holy have half on one left. I am sure that will either go tonight or Missy will take it to work tomorrow.
Heard from our daughter up in Ocala this morning. School is barely back in session, and her son got a letter to stay home as a student in his class had tested positive. Got a phone call the next day that another student tested positive and that her son should stay home for 2 additional days. This is going to be a very l-o-n-g year at this rate. Thanks to our a-hole governor who will not put in a mask mandate, this is going to happen all year long!
They don't call him DeSatan
for nothing. He really is trying to kill off Floridians, especially the good guys. The repubs love him and want him to be elected president, God help us. We have the highest number of daily deaths EVER from Covid right now, and what is he doing? Making daily appearances in repub areas toting that drug that gets given thru an IV once you test positive. It all just makes me so damn mad!! There goes my BP again for sure!!
Bert & I are going to the Grille for dinner tonight. Our boarders are on their own for dinner. Got a few things to do around here, so I better close this post. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon, dear friends. Stay safe and don't forget to wear your mask.
