Good morning! You know you're tired and sleeping well for a change, when the doorbell rings waking you up. I woke up Bert and told him someone was at the door. He put his pants on and checked. It was our landscapers here to trim all the bushes. It was 9:00! Rare day for me to be asleep that late. I did wake up earlier when everyone was leaving and for once I fell back to sleep.
Dave said -BB, I've got a feeling you that you know the name and location of every restaurant within 10 miles.
That isn't ever going to happen. They keep opening and closing restaurants here on a monthly basis and it's upsetting when one of the closures is a favor or ours. There aren't that many restaurants that we go to these days and that's a good thing. We know the Grille is safe as they sanitize all the time and as of this week, all employees are once again wearing masks. I was glad to see that. We haven't been to the Outback in about a year & a half. Used to go there at least once a month. Only other place for food for us these days is Chinese and right now that is strictly takeout.
Karen - Things sure didn't work out well for you guys yesterday on your vanity adventure. Sorry you didn't get your free lunch, but sorbet is a nice substitute. Especially in this heat. Our next door neighbor has a tiled floor in his garage. The whole garage is themed like a 50s soda fountain shop. He has gold records hanging on the walls and they have a bistro hi-top table and chairs. Really cool looking. They used to sit there in the evening with the garage door open to chat with neighbors. Such a NY/NJ thing!! Of course, that was before they put in the spool and got all their other "toys".
Kathie - Bert used to paint the garage floor when we lived in Ocala. No way he can do that here though. He's got TMS, if you know what I mean! So tell us - did you ever get to take that nap yesterday or did you find something else to keep yourself busy with until Art came home?
Lee - Hope you're feeling better today after resting up yesterday. I love that your alarm clocks have names. LOL
We had fun at trivia last night, but did really bad. We always get killed with the music questions. Either we don't know the name of the song or we don't know the artist who performed it, or worse still, we didn't know either. Gary came with Elaine's 2 sons. Those boys (13 & 16) are human garbage cans and can consume anything you put in front of them. They finished off their food and then at most of my chicken tenders and onion rings. I knew they would and that's why I ordered that!
Once trivia was over we stopped to talk to some friends for a little while. By the time we were headed out, we found that they had locked the gate to the pool area. Right now you have to go through the amenity center, around the pool to get to the gate when going to the Grille, if you're in a wheelchair. They are making repairs to the regular handicap entrance on the outside, so the have to accommodate anyone with a handicap. Luckily one of our friends' daughter was there and she walked around to the entrance to the amenity center and managed to get the gal working there to come open the locked gate. This should not have happened, so I am sending our community manager a message to find out how they intend to make this better for now. On weekends the Grille is open until 10, but the amenity center closes by 9, at the latest, so they will have to figure out how best to handle this. Time to shake things up in here!!
Well, I see that once again, it's past the noon hour, so that means it's time for lunch. Have a great afternoon and evening, everyone. I really will try to drop back later ... I promise!
