Good morning, everyone!
Kathie - Glad your procedure went well yesterday and hope today finds you acting like a spry young chicken, except for the boo-boo on you knee.
The only food I will be dealing with today is either eating out or getting takeout. It's my day of rest.
Emily did show up last night. Barely said thank you for her graduation present and is just so unfriendly unless you want to talk about her pictures of orcas at Sea World or she gets to play rummy with her father. Other than that, you have to drag conversation out of her. G&E gave her a beautiful sterling silver necklace with the prettiest orca charm that they got at Jared's. She put it on and immediately took it off and put it back in the jewelry case it came in claiming that she "didn't want to break it". If it was me, I'd never want to take it off. She just wasn't excited about anything. Unless she doesn't show up for Gary's birthday next week, who knows when we will see her again. Really sad!!
Dave - Sounds like a typical breakfast you're having this morning. My gang not only take soda and fruit home with them, last night they also took home all the leftovers - 3 quart containers of them! One was Emily's choice and the other 2 went with the boys, in addition to their usual apples and cans of soda. Bert had to make a couple of trips to the garage to get more sodas from the refrigerator to put in the wine and beer cooler we have in the kitchen. We just laugh about what leaves here each time with them.
Lee - That was a horrible time to be up during the night. I hate when that happens to me. Makes for a very long night for sure. I hope you did manage to get a couple of good hours of sleep.
Karen - That Sun Sail Shade is pretty cool and perfect for an area without any shade and a lot cheaper than a good umbrella. Smart move!
Enjoy your visit with family. I'm sure you gals are all looking forward to this visit. Hopefully, the rains will stay away while they are here.
One last thing - Elaine told us the other night her BIL who refuses to get the covid vaccine now has covid. Idiot that he is. Last night she told us his 5 year old son also has tested positive for the virus.
Their other 2 boys are negative so far. Please say a prayer for this little boy that he will be ok.
This is one of those really rare type days where we have nothing going on that I know of. If the rain stays away, I will definitely be enjoying some time of the lanai. If the rains show up, I have lots of programs recorded to watch on TV. One way or another, I'll have the day covered.
Time now though to break out the leftover fried chicken and have some lunch. After that, I'll be winging it! Have a wonderful day, everyone, no matter what you are doing. Just follow the rules and you will be good!
