Sailing on Regal on 2-26. Have any of you been on the Regal recently. I’ve got a balcony on Lido. Any input is appreciated. Merry Christmas!!

We did a Mediterranean cruise on Regal Princess in Aug 2022. We loved it, very tidy ship, the only negative was internet speed. It did work, but wasn't great. otherwise, no complaints!

Nice. Where are you off to?

Enjoy the balcony, although in the past when I've had a balcony I didn't feel I got the most out of it as there's so much to do up on deck. Nowadays we go for an inside cabin, and the money we save we spend on other things like excursions or souvenirs. We're off to Norway in August on Sun Princess.

Norway. Sounds great. What other ports do you visit and where do you initially board? Thanks.

We start at Southampton, then Bergen, Flaam, Andalsnes, Trondheim, Honningsvag, Tromso, Olden, Skjolden then back to Southampton. I'm a bit miffed they can't go to the Lofoten Islands any more, as it was on our original itinerary and was one of the reasons I booked this cruise.

They changed the itinerary as the local council on Lofoten Islands have apparently banned large ships from visiting there. We're stopping at Andalsnes instead.

I had a somewhat similar trip booked that hit some of those ports in April, 2020. Of course you what happened on that. I always wanted to see St Petersburg but doubt that will happen now. I believe you’ll have a great trip on that itinerary. Enjoy.

I hope so, thanks! You too. Where are you stopping?

One thing that may or may not be relevant to you is the facilities for children - we have girls 11 and 14, and the kids clubs on board were excellent. That really helped to make it enjoyable for the grown ups too, with the kids out of the way for a bit!
