Guys we have t do something abt this name I keep trying different versions and they are all sounding alike to me.
Red how will I know it is your luggage if it is not red. Guess I will continue with my grubby red lugage a while longer I have been looking at some of the ads in the catlogs which come here and thinking abt something wild so easy to spot(thought I had it with the red.)

I am back to the beginning on flight reservations --knew those prices were too good. Seems loads of people jumped on them too. They called me last night and said we did not have reservations and my card had not been charged. They also sent e-mail to explain no reservtions.

Looking frward to more deck ti e this afternoon just wish their was a pool out there. Have thought abt portables but with the oaks and dust we have they would never be clean. I remember messes we had when tried to hve kiddies pols for grandchildren.

Mornin' Maw, Paw and Jewel PC cruisers!!

Maw - we have friends with pools, above ground and below ground, and they sure are a lot of work. We kick around the idea periodically about getting one, but then we just go swim at theirs and come home and don't have to do any of the work. Other than taking an appetizer and drinks over to share. :D

This morning, at some point, we are heading to Lowes for a few items. I need to run into Kohl's for a bit to pay my bill, it is on the way. We are being very lazy today though as it was 11:00 before we got home from Tennessee last night. So I am still in my pj's. Den is of course up and dressed and has done a couple of little chores. I'm thinking about it. :lol

Happy Sunday!!!

Good morning Maw and fellow jewels.
maw, how about just calling it the "rambling jewels" or just "jewel Ramble"?
Maw, our suitcases were very beat up, and one of the 25 inch cases had a faultty zipper, so it was time.. They look about the same as the last lot, but are blue. About the only colours easy to spot right now are the vivid pink, or the ones with great big spots on them :lol

As soon as they come out with an easy to see colour, everyone buys them. I am thinking about spray painting on the sides :grin

Corky, we have a 29 foot round above ground pool, so it not a small thing. Einstein has had it for about 17 years. We replaced the lining last year, that is about as complicated as it gets.
Your friends need to talk with Einstein. he keeps this pool sparkling with the least amount of work I ever saw... I know he tests it once a week, and then adds chemicals as needed, it takes about 4 min.
Other than that, we have a pool vacuum system that we run now and then, as needed for leaves, as this pool is surrounded by trees.

And sometimes he or I get in the pool and steer the vacuum by hand if there has been a strong wind. That is not often, and I find it rather restful. it is not hard work, I just walk around a nice pool in the sunlight steering the hose to where it is needed.

About the only work put into it is at the begining and end of season.
Now you would have to check with him on this part, but I think he dumps in some chemicals before covering it.
I do know that he drains off a foot or so of water, directly onto the garden where the trees love it, as it is not very "chemically" at that time. then he disconnects the pomp and covers the pool.
In the Spring, the cover comes off, the water level is filled up again, it gets a chemical bath, and usually it needs the vacuum running for two days to clear up all the dirt that has filtered down.
That is it.

Today is part two of the paint the window frames saga. As it is the front windows, and they have this great big thick hedge in front of them, I am unable to help Einstein. He painted them yesterday, finished up today, and is now scraping the paint from the panes and then cleaning them. So I made myself busy removing the white (now dirty brown) rocks from the third of the four trees that flank the pool in the back.

I have removed 4 barrel loads of them and tossed them under the house deck where they will actually do some good :lol
I am not done, but I am through! my arms hurt, so it is time to rest. Besides.. I just remembered that I have not had breakfast. Guess I had just as well eat and call it "lunch" :grin I am going to make a cup of tea and have a slice of home made raisin bread. I soak the raisins in rum before using them in the bread dough.

Later on, we will make a run uptown to pick up Einsteins new laptop.. now he has the wireless thingee, he is eager to get started. he is looking forward to being able to sit out at the pool this summer and be on the computer with no wires :grin

Hoping for a slow day here. Just finished my wurk week (Friday and Saturday nights, from 11pm to 11am). Sitting back and catching up on the postings and getting ready for today's race. Sunflower surprised me with tickets to Lowe's Speedway for the October race.

Hey, @s in the Charlotte, NC area? Not looking for a place to crash. Already have the hotel reservations. Just want to meet C@s whenever possible ....

So who do we have that lives in the Charlotte area?
You could have a mini meet :lol

Red - sounds pretty much what my friends go through, plus keeping their beautiful deck looking beautiful.

Charlotte - I'm not in Charlotte. :)

Us either Corky, we are about a 2 1/2 hour drive away, so not too far.

Other than that.. the "Einstein Inn" would be in full swing :grin
we love company, and we are once again seeing Fla Jack and Honey when they start the trek home next weekend.

As for the pool upkeep, it is a small price to pay for the freedom to go out and jump in whenever the mood strikes.. weather permitting :lol
One of my favorite times is really late at night, before I go to bed. I do not turn on any lights, I just love to slip into that black silky water and swim around.
The only bad thing about that is when the mosquitos jump you when you are toweling down.. but thanks to my sisters hint about using mouthwash in a spray bottle to drive them away for an extended time.. even that is no longer a problem.

Red - you enjoy that "dark" silky water. I don't get into dark water. Ain't know way, ain't no how!!! :D

So, mouthwash in a spray bottle. Does one use it on ones self, or does one spray it around the elements...as in the air, trees, grass, deck, etc.
