The stern (rear) cabins on most of the ships are pretty good, especially on ships like Glory/Valor, where the corner cabins have wrap around balconies. One thing to avoid -- don't get the cabins right under Lido Deck (the hot tubs, pizza and ice cream area, etc.) Two things wrong with this area, including some of the cabins along the side: one, the noise of the scraping chairs on the deck, a petition by guests in the cabins there resulted in a $400 credit to our rooms(!); two, the open deck up above looks down on the stern, which slants outward as part of the ship design, and on the first night someone got sick and splattered our deck with (your imagination here). I would suggest a cabin one or two decks down from Verandah for these ships. The Pride and Spirit don't have this same problem, but for our 3/30/08 cruise on Pride, I couldn't get the Cat 11 corner suites, they were already booked by smart cruisers who beat me to it. =COOL
