How many people check the back of their sign and sail, and found it true that the number after your booking number is your room number? Got my doc's and if it true then I got an awesome UP grade to balcony on Empress. Yes!! Help please and thank you. Pat

PS and it is still snowing in Michigan!!!!!

This holds true 99 percent of the time. Please keep in mind if you booked a GTY, then there is always that small chance that it could be changed, but for now I would feel confident in saying congratulations on the upgrade.

Just keep it in the back of your mind that it CAN change so it isn't a let down when you board.

Thanks to both of you. I do mean my sign and sail application. My parent who asked to be located near us have a number 2 rooms down from us. I won't count on it, but it would be really nice. Thanks again, Pat

Anyone else have any experience with the sign and sail application numbers on the back indicating their room number, or not???

YES mine has always been the same,,, ofcourse ive only had two cruises, and booked GTY's but that is correct the sign and sail page 99% has the cabin info

Alright!!!! The more I hear the more I think I have a chance at that great up grade!!! Thank you again! Pat
Hey, it finally quite snowing and it's warmed up to a boiling 15 degree with wind chill! Pat

On our cruise in Aug. the number on the S & S held up all the way to the dock. What did you book to get such a good upgrade? We also booked an upgrade for our 5-1-05 Victory cruise. Still don't know our room number but hoping the upgrade fairy will shine favorably on us.

Have a great trip and enjoy your balcony.

Don't know if it helps or not, but I booked 10 months ago. If this is an up grade, I am very very happy! All I booked was an outside guarentee. Our first trip was on the Victory, I book the cheapest guarentee you can and got a upgrade to outside, can't remember what deck but it was 4 up from the bottom and towards the front. Our second trip I booked a guarentee and got an upgrade, but still an inside room. Go figure. I have to sail spring break so have to book ahead to get a good rate. We loved our trip on the Victory. Hubby says would like to do it agin some time. But, I like teying new things. Besides I don't want to take a chance on tarnishing that great memory. Pat

It seems that MOST of the time, the cabin number encoded on the back of your SAIL and SIGN (it's not sign and sail) form in your docs IS what you'll get, but there's that small chance that it will change prior to your boarding the ship.

And TopCat, you can't "book an upgrade", so I guess you meant you booked a guarantee? Good luck to both of you.

Ah well, Sign and Sail or Sail and SIgn who really gives a rats behind?

My friend just came back from a Carnival cruise and she said that the # on her sign and sail was not her cabin #.

Y'know, it's probably not the most important thing, but I was simply trying to point out that Carnival literature says Sail and Sign. You don't sign and then sail; you sail and then sign.

I may be new to this forum, but you don't have to be rude.

Lighten up! I wasn't trying to be rude...a little bit of a sense of humor?

Personally I felt as though you are being a bit rude. You made it a point to correct the fact that I said sign and sail in another post that I made too...who really cares? Everyone knew what I was talking about.

Southern Lady- I post on a few cruise boards and although most people know what its called-- th majority of people call it tthe sign and sail card. Its not really important.

You call it what you want--and others will call it what they want- its not needed to point out to people their rights and wrongs.

LF The persons who had a different cabin then the one on the s and s form, could have gotten another upgrade after the fact--especially during the off season. Sometimes carnival can still be booking and moving people on cruise day, especially if the ship is not completely booked. I've actually read on this board over the past year of people jumping from a window room to a suite during the off season AND didn't know it until they went for embarkation.

Another thing about room assignments is how many handicapped rooms are available and assigned appropriately, and how many 4 persons cabins and 3 persons cabins and how they are assigned. The easiest cabins to assign are naturally the 2 persons cabins. And of course there are the specific cabin requests.

Hopes this helps a little.
